“Health and social care in Scotland is currently made up of multiple legacy systems and governance structures. We need a joined up approach to get clinical data safely, at the right place and at the right time”. Associate Director for Data, Steve Pavis @ndsscotland
I love it when people say FHIR resources are analogous to openEHR archetypes. #Nope.
And that's the principal reason why the AllergyIntolerance resource should be banned. It's an outlier.
Today on-line booking goes live for a range of sexual health services in Scotland - nearly all the country covered thanks to amazing work by colleagues. https://t.co/GF0bW1ef91 or via local Board websites #STI#NaSH@Excelicare@SandyfordNHSGGC
Yet another ... not only directly unsafe - missing this likely lung cancer - but indirectly i.e. creates lots of differential diagnoses and loads them all onto an already-anxious patient to manage.
This is the opposite of Primary Care.
A 66 yr old♀️, 20 a day smoker from Suffolk, has had recent weight loss & over the past week has been coughing up blood...
She's worried that it might be lung cancer, but after using @MattHancock's favourite #eHealth Chatbot, she's now Googling 'Tapeworm'...🤔
Intern referral cheat sheet! Thanks to everyone from #medtwitter who offered suggestions to help me put this together. Have given to a couple of interns to trial this week after approval from some local registrars. #meded#tipsfornewdocs
@omowizard @PetterWolff @Maureenprsb @ianmthompson@ProfRecordSB@clinicalmodels@openEHR@ErikSundvall The key message is this work was drawn from best practice from around the world and is implemented in eprescribing systems in both community and hospital settings with full support for complex meds and dosages.
@BHaarbrandt Except in #Scotland where @ndsscotland is going to do just that transformation with @openEHR built on @AppertaUK #openplatform principles. Watch this space.
While what you say seems logical but lots of very smart people have chosen SQL databases for openEHR. Probably the state of the tech/market at the time they made that decision. One of the great things about openEHR is it technology agnostic
Nope. So that's a call to GPIT support later. Not sure when, in between 2 surgeries, Docman, prescriptions, etc. It's still working I think, so maybe just carry on till it fixes itself or breaks completely? Or the Microsoft police come calling... ;) #gpit
The Head of Astronomy at Harvard asserting that Oumuamua was a non-human solar sail. Great read that reflects on both (1) the lack of academic freedom with which most scientists work (2) further evidence that we haven't passed the Great Filter yet https://t.co/z3NdIJHVtA
I’d like to say a few things about @NHSGrampian . I don’t normally tweet about my employer, for obvious reasons, but in the last 24 hours, I have been a relative of a patient, and not an employee, and the experience has been top class.
National Records of Scotland and the Scottish Government are recruiting for Assistant Statisticians. If you're interested in working with us, you can find further details of B1 and B2 grade positions here... https://t.co/oZ2rw06wOo
