PhD scientist using chemical biology to drug the proteome. NEU & Scripps alumna. Passions include: education outreach, felines, and fine food. Views are my own.
Last night I was honored to receive the 2025 #BreakthroughPrize in the Life Sciences, reflecting the efforts of many students, collaborators, doctors, and patients in labs around the world. I hope this 4-minute excerpt can inspire when science needs public support more than ever.
For reference, if these ultra rich people would have paid Kamalas Wealth Tax, it would have only cost them $36 billion *a year* instead of $500 billion in 2 days. 👍
It’s crazy how talking with a science buddy is simultaneously what’s most likely to move the project forward and the thing that’s least prioritized in our schedule.
It’s easy to operate a DEL platform, but it’s not as simple to find drug-like DEL hits. Excellent libraries and high quality proteins are an essential starting point!
What a fun evening meeting & re-connecting with a great group of brilliant scientists. It was my first @WomenInTPD event & I am already looking forward to the next one!
Conference-goers can see the eye-opening talk Tuesday, Aug. 1 by X-Chem’s Paige Dickson: “Employing DNA-encoded Libraries to Identify Novel Chemical Equity for PPIs and Beyond.” https://t.co/Ia5HZ1nyNC
