@o8grinder My idea: keep 1-8 & conferences but teams 1, 2, and 3 pick their 1st round opponent (4th seed gets what's left). Makes for GREAT rivalries and makes every seed significantly better than the one below it so end-of-season races for every seed are now really fun.

@o8grinder No sir, for 2 two main reasons: (1) makes the travel WAY worse (and yes this matters), (2) drastically reduces frequency of 2 teams meeting in playoffs multiple times --> worse rivalry building.
