@Dolichon I think they were 11th per capita. Australia were 9th, Jamaica 6th, New Zealand 4th and the top three were Grenada, Dominica and St Lucia. GB were 24th.
@russell_runner I was reading this and thinking how much I enjoy everything you write. Always insightful, moving and well-written. Have you considered writing a book? I’d definitely buy it.
@driverminnie Well GB&NI got 4 Golds, 4 Silvers and 5 Bronzes at the European Athletics Championships 2 weeks ago. And the Olympics are starting in late July, so that’ll be interesting.
It is hard to feel compassion towards someone who goes abroad to support a radical group that detests our country's values, but she was clearly not bright enough to know better, and that's why I don't think Liz Truss should be stripped of her citizenship.
@Melissa54579618 @jonathanliew It could be that this forum doesn’t lend itself to nuanced discussion of complex issues and makes us all appear disingenuous and entrenched.
@jonathanliew Funnily enough, my elder daughter, who I greatly respect and who has much more robust views on this issue than I do, told me that I shouldn’t engage in online discussions about it as all I would get was abuse.
@sharrond62@AthleticsImages But this isn’t about fairness for females in sport, which I support. It’s about insisting that trans women shouldn’t be able to participate in a female category under any circumstances, even when it does no-one any harm. And that seems cruel to me.
@Raworthontherun For me, parkrun is primarily about health (physical and mental), community, inclusivity and personal challenge (in terms of runs completed, events done, time and age grade). The records were fun but if removing them helps to clarify that it’s not a race, I’m in favour.
@hillyfdsparkrun Very exciting to see this. Thank you so much. 😊 Annoyingly I’ve caught a nasty cold. But that won’t stop me. And there will be chocolate. 🍫
