Benefits and Work want to hear from people with ADHD, autism, anxiety or depression, and their carers, about the extra costs you face. Your contribution will help to build a case for protecting cash benefits for people with these conditions.

NEW POST: The government must not ignore stark warnings about lack of mainstream SEND capacity reported by its own research. @TaniaLT waded through them so you don't have to: https://t.co/A15MmsylNL
About time as we’ve been saying for sometime the rhetoric of negativity against disabled people and especially children/young people. Sadly the worst people are many in central and local Govt to justify their views! #SENDNationalScandal
Disabled people can now report media coverage that scapegoats and stigmatises them and contributes to the hostile environment many of them face in their daily lives, thanks to a new campaign.

I’d have thought Swarbrick might have a better grasp of #DLA / #PIP entitlement after spending so much time discussing it on @LBC, disproportionately so… Apparently not though! #SEND#SENDParents#autism#ADHD
@autismtalknd No. I work in the NHS, as a psychiatrist-and no - from what I see day to day the opposite is true. Many adults with undiagnosed neurodivergence. The increases in diagnosis are purely because we are more informed about neurodivergence than we used to be.

A Tory shadow minister has said that accusing parents of “gaming the system” to secure support for their disabled children is “populist BS”, just hours after his leader accused many disabled adults of doing exactly that when claiming benefits.

Following the BBC’s reporting yesterday that there have been two criminal misconduct in public office investigations into SEND officers at Surrey County Council, I have written to the Prime Minister asking him to investigate why the Department for Education has ignored warnings from myself and others for over eighteen months about maladministration and misconduct in the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning department at Surrey County Council. https://t.co/QLr6HwkE5h

Don't let them gaslight you
In the UK, like every other country in the world, 4 to 6% of the population will have ADHD. Less than 0.5% of the population is diagnosed.
There is some sort of ableist agenda in play built on a total lie.
On Fighting the System (Dads):
"I had to take time off work for every appointment, every tribunal, every meeting. My employer wasn't sympathetic. Mums seem to have more flexibility—or at least more understanding. I felt like I had to choose between my job and my child."
