@beffjezos His Einstein's "God does not play dice" rejecting "random, probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics". .. let's slow down & wait for a better theory & model of reality / no reason to develop this one because there are no practical applications awaiting
@JawadBoulos@karimbitar@michelletueini battered woman syndrome - inflicting self w/ Syphilis (Mukakawawama) 2 punish a perceived rapist (IL). disease destroys essence- soul, brain & body. Suicidal empathy for a killer infectious disease imported from Persia to be the forward defense base for Persepolis
What will happen to Iran's strategy of Forward Defense and the Axis of Resistance post-Israel's weakening of Hezbollah and fall of Assad are key questions asked today.
To understand Iran's likely next move, you need to read @vali_nasr new book!

@lebkitt Wow IL w/ a plan/strategy 4 secure borders in face of threats? solemn duty of nation states? Reading 2 much Said, Darwish & their ilk ruins critical thinking. strong economies/research universities then “resist” . China’s 100 yr plan of rebuilding 2 erase a century of humiliation

@WaelChehab1@BeirutCalling@haningdr If Michael accepts his ideological pal Trita “Lebanon as a forward defense” base 4 the Persian empire it becomes easy for him to accept that high peaks of Mt Leb r perfect missile bases location for military strategists.. local natives r sacrificial lamps to protect Persepolis

The stagnation of middle eastern studies vis-à-vis the levant is arguably because of Said’s legacy. His work is rarely ever taken as a serious point of departure and only turned into a cynical cycle, where “critique” is substituted for any meaningful political imagination. His work was turned into a formulaic orthodoxy in many academic and activist circles where you affirm life only through dying for it. Survival without resistance is viewed as betrayal, and resistance without death is seen as insufficient. Calling out Western imperialism becomes the primary mode of engagement. Sacrificial politics is embedded within the post-Orientalist moral economy of much of the Arab left.
We speak of “no justice no peace” but what kind of deferral mechanism is this? We are unintentionally legitimizing endless struggle, especially in contexts where justice is perpetually defined as full restitution, which is obstructed. Working with “critique” without any viable political imagination justifies conditions of prolonged war, siege, or resistance that cost lives, because “justice hasn’t yet been achieved.” What happens when the expectation to resist becomes a kind of moral coercion that denies the right not to die? What a disgusting world we live in
@AnaKasparian@DanaldTrump@perturbedxtir@IamSean90 A Time Machine need to be invented to send you back to 1984 Beirut, these HA thugs you celebrate now wouldn’t have spared you Terry Anderson/John McCarthy/Charles Glass’s fates if you were 1 of the lucky westerners OR Malcom Kerr’s if you were not.
It was an honor to visit your husband’s grave today on your behalf, and to pay my respects. It was wonderful to see the beautiful flowers representing many others who did the same. Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and to the loved ones they left behind. Thank you for your service and sacrifice @SharrellAnne2 🙏🏽
@GeorgeJNasr@walidjoumblatt WW2 Japanese Bushido = Japanese home islands r impenetrable & US can’t force Japanese capitulation
Iranian Karbala = Persia is 6000yrs old/plateaux is a mountain fortress. Love martyrdom. US wont dare. US/IL can’t fight long wars
In battle for empire, the gloves are off
@AlbertKostanian Victim blaming - she wanted to be left alone but she was dressed too provocatively. she shouldn’t have fought back which made him more angry so he escalated from rape to murder. They are both at fault .
