@JoshMif96 The 4Cs are 21st century skills comprised of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking
and Problem-Solving, and Creativity and Innovation. They are considered critical skills needed to engage with the global economy, for global problem-solving, and for global diplomacy!
These key points made within this article are what will drive the planning of my PBL unit to ensure both student engagement and self-directed learning are fostered. To support, Budiarti et al., (2021) also identify the 4Cs as crucial implementations of PBL. #educ4750#UoNTeach
Exciting collaboration, making discoveries, asking questions, and feeling empowered can be the result of a well-planned PBL unit that both students and teachers can enjoy.

@JoshMif96 Exactly right Josh. Dickson, Gray & Mann (2008) highlight that when engaging in outdoor adventure activities, students develop interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
I love this quote by Andy Carley! It really highlights the powerful nature of learning that is taken outside of the classroom. Ss are able to make connections between their learning and the real-life, relevant issues that surround their environment. #educ4750#UoNTeach
Last week marked International Day of Forests, a great day to utilise in schools when thinking about #SDG15. Ss can discover some sustainable practices & understand the human actions that damage these environments. What other calendar dates support #SDG15? #educ4750#UoNteach
Everybody has the power to make a difference in saving our planet! With Earth Hour approaching this weekend, let’s take a moment to reflect on the small switches we can make to #ShapeOurFuture.
Which will you do this Earth Hour? #educ4750#UoNteach

Pictures can tell 1000 words and are so powerful. These books by Gwen Hew are a fantastic tool to utilise in a classroom when introducing Ss to the topic of Borneo and it’s rainforests! They will act as a great resource to spark curiosity in my unit. #UoNteach#educ4750
@JoshMif96 I agree! I wills utilise a discovery wall in my unit to keep curiosities flowing throughout its entirety. It will also act as a stimulus for future teaching.
What a wonderful idea to help spark Ss curiosity about their world! A wall of discovery can be used to naturally inspire Ss to share new ideas or moments they’ve discovered. This is a fantastic resource to incorporate into Inquiry Based Learning!
#UoNteach#educ4750
@laramcconville@peter_mcgahan Such a powerful tool Lara! I will be utilising this to spark open-ended discussions regarding the changes to human actions to our life on land.
A strong image and quote here by @peter_mcgahan. I know this powerful message resonates with me, what message does it leave with you?
I will be sharing this one with my students! #educ4750#UoNTeach
@laramcconville Exactly the reason I am utilising fieldwork in my unit Lara. Students are able to make stronger meaning to their learning when it becomes local.
I agree Ryan! There is no better way to connect student learning to their community than with fieldwork. Utilising local community groups and facilities will enhance learner engagement and motivation. A fantastic excursion idea to support #SDG15! #educ4750#UoNTeach
A fantastic campaign taking place to help protect the Earths beautiful forests!
It is great to see people all around the world getting involved in taking action against protecting our environment.
#educ4750#UoNteach#SDG15
The “Say No to Illegal Logging” campaign is picking up momentum in the North as stakeholders take the pledge. The elders & Turaga ni Koro of Batiri Village, Seaqaqa, have pledged to curb illegal forest activities. #SustainableForestManagement#SDG15#FijiForestry
@Rpearce1995 Even small actions can make such a huge difference! Checking the labels of food to ensure they were developed sustainability, protecting and restoring local environments or just spreading the word of the practices we can take to protect our Earths lungs.
The National Wildlife Federation quotes "trees are the lungs of the Earth".
This WWF image acts as a powerful resource to support this quote and bring attention to #SDG15. What can we do within our community to help bring back life to our Earths lungs? #educ4750#UoNTeach
This video resource was created by a 13 year old boy, passionate about making our Earth a better place. An incredible example of how Ss can promote the sustainable development goals and encourage others around the world to take action! #educ4750#UoNTeach

To support #SDG15, Hastings PS will be partnering with Planet Ark and National Tree Day to create a nature space filled with native plants and trees. We will aim to inspire and educate future generations on the many benefits of connection with nature.

@ThinkIncIusion I am glad this was of benefit to you Rhys! How great is it to see students promoting our SDGs on such popular platforms that reach millions.
I love to see what schools around the world are doing in support of #SDG15! This one has definitely added some inspiration into my unit of work #educ4750#UoNTeach
@MissRCoops I agree Ruby! Digital technologies have profoundly changed notions of literacy, making the skill of visuality and
image decoding vital to new literacy practices. I will use this poster to introduce my Ss to the global issues surrounding deforestation and aim at promoting #SDG15
Digital literacies have the power to in still a deep understanding of global issues (Donnelly & Grushka, 2015). My creation of this visual literacy poster aimed to nurture and convey a strong message in the mind of my Ss. What message does this leave with you? #educ4750#UoNTeach
