Thanks to @cjmckeon for this lovely article about my marathon for @SGCancerUK and @Cancer52org - I’m running to make my brother proud https://t.co/8LU0y8acg7
On Sunday I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for rare cancers. I lost my brother to salivary gland cancer last year and I am running to make sure other families don’t have to go through what mine did https://t.co/pI8RiKwcql
From our colleagues at Salivary Gland Cancer UK Charity…
Have you been diagnosed with salivary gland cancer in the UK?
We are inviting individuals to take part in a short survey to help improve understanding of how salivary gland cancer presents and is diagnosed in the UK.
This survey is open to individuals who:
- Have been diagnosed with salivary gland cancer — this includes salivary gland–type cancers (such as adenoid cystic carcinoma) that originated in other sites, such as the breast, trachea, skin, bartholins gland or lungs.
- Underwent diagnostic care within the UK
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
All responses are completely anonymous. Your responses will help us better understand the symptoms patients experience and the pathways to diagnosis, with the aim of improving early detection and patient care.
If you’re eligible and willing to share your experience, please consider taking part: https://t.co/76dC7Eb2u0
Thank you for sharing your experience and helping improve our understanding of these conditions.
Please share this survey to spread the word! It's also posted on Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn.

This time next week I will be on the start line of the London Marathon. I am running in memory of my brother Alex who passed away last year. I am hoping to bing more money to rare cancer charity Cancer 52 and Salivary Gland Cancer UK specifically. Losing Alex is still painful every day, and with rare cancers responsible for the majority of deaths I want to do all I can so other families don’t face the pain of losing a loved one to cancer.
Please help me reach my sponsorship goal if you can.

April is a season of renewal, and for many in our SGC community, it’s a time to look forward.
This month, we celebrate the small victories; the clear scan, the return of a sense of taste, or the first walk in the spring sunshine. 🌸

Salivary Duct Carcinoma (SDC) is rare, but its "markers" provide a roadmap for targeted treatment. 🧬
✅ 75% are AR+: Can be treated with hormone therapy. ✅ 40% are HER2+: Targeted drugs available.
Knowledge is power. Ask your team about marker testing.
