Delighted to share that a research article from Dr. M. Dhruba Singh’s Lab, titled “Expression of mutant Huntingtin induces proteasomal defects, mitochondrial abnormalities, and cell death in Drosophila muscles,” has been published in BBRC.

The study showed that mutant Huntingtin expression affects mitochondrial and proteasomal functions in skeletal muscles.

Ever wonder how our brain cells make sure the right chemical messengers get packaged and sent out at the right time?

A study by researchers at the BRIC-National Brain Research Centre (@DBT_NBRC) has uncovered the role of a protein complex called AP-3 in sorting cargo into "dense-core vesicles" tiny structures that store and release neurotransmitters and hormones. When AP-3 is missing, important cargo proteins end up in the wrong place (lysosomes, where they get broken down) instead of reaching the vesicles, weakening the release process.

This research adds an important piece to the puzzle of how our nervous system communicates at the molecular level!
