Near the municipal dumping yard on Ramgarh Road in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, more than 300 dead cows were found lying in the open.

The same Hindutva extremists who claim to be protectors of cows and spread hatred to divide communities are failing even to feed and protect them. In the name of religion, genuine cattle owners, grazing communities and traditional livelihoods are being pushed aside, while grazing lands and orans are handed over to corporates and industrial interests.

The BJP feeds cows for optics, while thousands of cows are dying from hunger, neglect, and abandonment across the country.

Those ruling in the name of “gau raksha” must answer why cattle are forced to eat garbage and die in such horrific conditions. The BJP is using cows as a source of division and communal polarisation, not as a genuine responsibility of care, protection and welfare.
