Every society that brutally represses others is itself sick. Israel’s depravity is most apparent in the brutal nature of its slaughter of innocents & in its constant use of sexual violence. By dehumanising others Israelis have lost their own humanity. The same thing was witnessed in apartheid South Africa
Classic Keir Starmer - condemns Iran while ignoring Israel’s strike on the world’s largest gas field at South Pars, which triggered the escalation.
What a pathetic excuse of a Prime Minister.
People worldwide watched Israel blow babies in Gaza to pieces day after day, and they didn’t buy that Israel is the victim. Now they’ve seen Iranian schoolgirls blown to shreds by US and Israel, and they don’t buy the claim that Iran is the aggressor — or that countries hosting US bases and opening their skies to Israeli warplanes are victims. It’s clear Iran is winning the battle for hearts and minds, no matter how politicians and their puppets try to spin it.
Sen. Bernie Sanders: "You've got a lot of people here in Congress who under the thumb of AIPAC and other special interests. The bottom line is that to give another 20,000 bombs to a country which committed genocide in Gaza, happens to be among many other things - forget the moral issue - happens to be a violation of American law. You don't sell arms, according to American law, to countries that violate international law and human rights. Clearly Israel has done that."
For centuries, Eid prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque have marked one of the holiest days of the year for Palestinians.
Now, for the first time since 1967, Israeli occupation forces have banned them—at the mosque and across Jerusalem’s streets—dispersing worshippers with violence. #EidMubarak
@PACBI This is a crucial win for free speech and justice. Solidarity with Palestinians everywhere. The fight against racism and censorship must continue. #FreePalestine
The campaign to boycott Adelaide Festivals ends with a resounding victory.
Writers, musicians and organisers showed there is a price to pay for anti-Palestinian racism.
@CAGEintl Yet more evidence surfaces, confirming the existence of a comprehensive and entrenched apartheid system. The reality is undeniable. #FreePalestine#ApartheidIsrael
The Israeli Knesset has now passed a Bill approving the death penalty for hundreds of Palestinian hostages it deems to have exercised their right to resist zionist occupation and apartheid. #FreePalHostages
Satellite images confirm Israel is expanding its occupation of Gaza beyond the 'yellow line'
——
A Haaretz report published on 15 January confirms that, based on satellite images, Israel has pushed the "yellow line" deep into the Gaza Strip and expanded the area of its control. According to the British organization Forensic Architecture, since the ceasefire and as of mid-December, Israeli occupation forces have set up 13 new outposts inside the Gaza Strip, including two large positions in the Jabalia area. These outposts are tall and highly visible in the landscape, offering a wide field of view over the surrounding territory.
Their construction required demolishing buildings, clearing land, and using heavy engineering equipment to create elevated earthworks from which much of northern Gaza can be monitored. Palestinians have shared videos online documenting these outposts.
Satellite images also indicate that since the cease-fire, Israeli forces have continued to demolish hundreds of additional buildings in Jabalia, particularly around the Indonesian Hospital. Most of the destruction is on the Israeli side of the "yellow line", as shown in the Israeli military's official publications, but it is evident that many more buildings west of the line have also been destroyed.
UN official says clearing Gaza’s 60 million tons of rubble could take over seven years
——
A senior UN official warned that Gaza is facing unprecedented destruction, with an average of 30 tons of rubble per person. Jorge Moreira da Silva, the UN under-secretary-general and executive director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), said Gaza contains more than 60 million tons of debris and that clearing it could take over seven years.
Silva said people in Gaza are exhausted, traumatized, and overwhelmed, with harsh winter conditions and heavy rains compounding their suffering.
Children are among the hardest hit, having missed school for the third consecutive year. Silva emphasized that daily life for Palestinian children in Gaza is defined by loss and trauma, with long-term physical and psychological wounds mounting.
Hard to believe that Israel's massive destruction of Gaza was only about fighting Hamas. It seems in large part designed to render Gaza unlivable to achieve the far-right dream of expelling the Palestinians ("voluntarily," for "humanitarian" reasons). https://t.co/l1jLaGW8Td
