@raydistributed@py_bay Are full recordings of keynote presentations from the Summit available? I am only seeing partial clips for day 1 (11 min) and day 2 (3 min) on the conference site.
I wrote out some thoughts on how to make this moment a real turning point to bring about real change––and pulled together some resources to help young activists sustain the momentum by channeling their energy into concrete action. https://t.co/jEczrOeFdv
We wouldn't need these protests and bail funds if the US adhered to justice instead of civility. You see it as rioting, I see it as ignored population using their outside voice. This could all go away if our government was interested in fixing the problem.
@vicnastea I know two people with pellet smokers (Traeger, I believe) who really like them. You know one of them, too. He wrote the Cluster Controller.
Just posted an article detailing key design principles for modern command line interfaces. Inspiration and lessons from @PulumiCorp's awesome UX, the @rustlang ecosystem (thanks @ceejbot!), and @jdxcode's "12 factor CLI" https://t.co/AyCAbGRY2b - comments welcome!
@dendrobates What would you keep out to constrain complexity? We certainly don’t need VM migration :-) Without multi-tenancy – no need to manage identities. Networking and storage is where things get complicated, vendor-specific.
@David_67 I recently learned that our local store, @chaucersbooks, has on-line ordering and that turned out to be game-changing. Turns out, I don’t care for free 2-day shipping, but being able to place an order fast, without a phone call, removes friction. No more Amazon for books!
We're very excited to announce a partnership with bare-metal cloud provider @packethost to offer #AWS hybrid customers independence, data control, and cost savings. https://t.co/H3ryGlqRPd
Healthcare, education, incarceration are all domains that fare very poorly under exclusively market economics. It's how we get the opioids crisis. Trillion-dollar student debt. 2.5 million people in jail. These domains need public, political accountability.
Using Encapsulation, you have to invoke code to change an object's data. With Declarative Configuration, you have to change an object's data to invoke its code.
The best consolation I could come up with after a colleague and I wasted the day reconfiguring our office network configuration: We made the world a better place; for us.
@slampoud @d_a_howell You were on a space mission with someone who was on a space mission with someone who was on a space mission with Captain Picard?! How little do I know you, @slampoud
