Speaking at the G20 Ministerial this week with @mkratsios47, I made two points with respect to AI data centers. First, when done right, data centers lower electricity costs and bring significant economic benefits to local communities. Second, the choice remains with the communities themselves. In Executive Order 14365, President Trump established a national framework for AI but explicitly carved out data center infrastructure as a state and local decision. Despite some fake news to the contrary, the federal government is not preempting the states on this front. Under President Trump, this remains a matter for local communities to decide — and as the President noted this week, those that choose to embrace them will see lower taxes, new jobs, and historic growth.
This is concerning. For the first time, a Chinese model Kimi K3 has taken #1 on the Frontend Code Arena and is scoring at or near the frontier on other benchmarks.
Meanwhile America is tying itself in knots: politicians and bureaucrats are banning new data centers, piling on state regulations, and pushing for new federal agencies to pre-approve frontier models.
This is how you lose the AI race. The rest of the world won’t play by our rules if we bog ourselves down. Permissionless innovation is how America won the internet and became the technological envy of the world. We can do it again with AI -- while addressing risks in a targeted way -- or we’ll watch our lead evaporate.
Proud to be one of the leading investors in Neura Robotics, an extraordinary company that has become one of the world's leaders in intelligent robotics. The 500 year megatrend of robotics has begun and it's in the early phase of massive development will inspire and change our world.
Building the World's Leading Physical AI Platform takes more than a vision. It takes the right partners.
Our founder and CEO, David Reger, sat down with some of our investors from Series C who are shaping what comes next. Don't miss the NEURA Robotics Executive Talk. Coming soon.
In 2019, a small team of engineers with an outsized vision founded NEURA with the mission to change the way humans and machines work together.
Last week, we reached our biggest milestone yet: a landmark Series C financing with a total round size of up to $1.4 billion to accelerate our mission of building the world’s leading Physical AI platform. Read the full story here: https://t.co/XBOXOE4FxO
We tried our luck at the casino, but the house won. So we went back to robotics, doing what we do best 🤖
Today marks the final day of CES, so make sure to stop by our booth for one last round! We look forward to seeing you there.
German robotics startup Neura Robotics is raising €1B (~$1.2B) at a €4 billion (~$4.6B) valuation.
Bloomberg reports the deal includes crypto giant Tether, the issuer of USDT, the world’s most widely used stablecoin.
My interview with the CEO from earlier this year:
I'm starting to receive pitch decks for products that aren't built for human users anymore, but for AI.
Let that sink in.
We've always told ourselves that the big mission was to onboard the next billion people onchain. But it almost feels like that's no longer the mission.
Not in a world where it's not just a dream, but an almost inevitable future that tens of billions of AI agents will be operating onchain.
As scary as that future may sound, it's equally exciting. The amount of onchain activity and capital velocity this will generate will be unlike anything we've ever seen.
And I am not just talking about crypto, but all of finance.
Like it or not, this is the bull case for crypto. A much bigger one than any of us could have ever imagined.
Not sure who needs to hear this, but we’re here.
The past few years in crypto were tough for a reason:
Getting past the turning point is the hardest part of any technology cycle.
Most don’t even make it through. We did.
Gonna be some fun years from here, Golden Age is next.
During altseason, everyone is a winner.
Yes, even the worst of the worst veritcal called GameFi.
These are just early signs of what the rest of the year will look like.
A robot is only as good as the help it actually provides.
Day 2 revolved around the conversations at our CES booth. Together with Global Tech Influencer Lara Sophie Bothur, we spoke with visitors about their first impressions and how physical AI could impact everyday lives. 🦾
.@garrytan I would urge you to reconsider this decision and open YC Austin.
First, the data is looking in the rear view mirror. “Past performance does not guarantee future results,” as the saying goes. The Austin startup ecosystem is off to the races thanks to first movers like @elonmusk and @JTLonsdale.
Second, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If YC and others support Austin, it will be successful.
Third, and this is a biggie, if you don’t open YC Austin, you’re basically acknowledging that Silicon Valley has insuperable network effects, which was effectively Ro Khanna’s point. You may win this or that political battle, but eventually the political system will extract as much as rent as it can. If you don’t start diversifying now, you won’t have any leverage.
Fourth, if Tech doesn’t start sharing the wealth with Red States, it should expect narrow and shrinking political support. With the Left going socialist, the Right should be an ally; it still believes in innovation and property rights. But many on the Right wonder why they should support radical change that mainly enriches Team Blue.
I fully agree with you that the tech backlash is bad for America, but to solve this, Tech has to include all of America.
This goes for the rest of the VC ecosystem. I would urge you to open Austin offices in 2026.
Say whatever you want, but crypto investors dumping their coins to chase physical silver and other precious metals is textbook max depression to me.
This bubble will burst too, and by now likely sooner rather than later.
And guess where that money will rotate next.
Bullish.
The reels are spinning… NEURA is bringing the future of robotics to CES in Las Vegas! 🎰
From MiPA, our intelligent personal assistant, to 4NE1, our humanoid robot, full-stack robotics comes to life in a variety of real-world settings. Meet us there from January 6–9, 2026. 🦾
@sjdedic@MoonrockCapital Agreed! - Neura has much more progress across the full stack backed up by, remarkably, many BB of committed orders from huge enterprise customers for their range of robotics, from sophisticated arms to the best humanoid in the world.largest raise in the world underway
NEURA has established a new partnership with SAP and BITZER (a leading global manufacturer of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment) to test the application of humanoid robots in manufacturing warehouses.
In this proof-of-concept project, the humanoid robot 4NE1 performs real-time picking tasks within BITZER's warehouse and is fully integrated with SAP Business AI and SAP EWM through a business technology platform.
By combining NEURA's physical AI with SAP's business logic, 4NE-1 can dynamically interact with digital systems, adapt to sudden changes, and generate measurable operational impact.
4NE-1 was trained in NVIDIA Isaac Sim before actual deployment in the warehouse, ensuring a smooth, safe, and rapid deployment.
Humanoid robots need to understand not only the tasks, but the entire workflow.
I have always liked driving my Tesla’s myself and about 18 months ago FSD was not quite up to snuff. About 6 months ago, I noticed that FSD had become better and I only had to override it now and then. Recently, I drove my Tesla entirely on FSD from a hockey game in South Florida all the way home 50 miles away, including exiting a busy parking lot, dealing with tons of traffic cones and construction, on all kinds of roads from highways to tiny alleys. For the first time, I would say that FSD is a better driver than I am. The car I have been driving is a 2021 Model S (so not the latest chip set) and my FSD is v13.6, not yet the (I’m told) much improved v14. This truly deserves a tip of the hat to @elonmusk and @tesla as I consider this a tipping point and not something I truly believed would happen this quickly.
David Sacks: “San Francisco is a pretty obvious city to send in the National Guard.”
“We still have this problem of this blighted area on Market Street, and everybody understands that it's because they won't stop the drug dealing.”
“So you've got open air drug markets there on the main business thoroughfare of town.”
“Of all people, Gavin Newsom proved that we could clean it up.”
“Remember when President Xi came to town from China for that summit?”
“And all of a sudden, magically, that whole area was cleaned up in 48 hours. And all the drug addicts and all the drug dealers basically disappeared.”
“It shows that there is a way to clean this up virtually overnight.”
“So you could have a targeted operation here by the federal authorities to go in and clean that up. And I think that'd be a good thing.”
“There was actually an article in the San Francisco Chronicle talking about this, where the majority of the drug trade in San Francisco comes from a single town in South America.”
“And so yeah, it's like why couldn't you just round up this whole network in a very targeted operation and deport them?"
"And that would clean up a huge part of San Francisco.”
“This is a choice. We don't have to live this way.”
