Aviation for dummies: The identities of the pilot and co-pilot are presented to the arrival airport before departure, and no departure takes place before the arrival airport gives approval for all passengers, the pilot, and the co-pilot.
Now, aviation for those who know: On an international commercial flight, the flight crew are not anonymous. The operating crew, including the Captain and First Officer, are documented, and their required biographical and travel-document data are transmitted through API/APP to the relevant border-control authorities in advance of departure or arrival.
So yes, Israel had it and has it. So no, an international commercial flight does not simply depart with some mystery pilot whose identity nobody at the relevant authorities knows.
Now, that's why all sides are working together and investigating. Two smart nations working together: one, the UAE, reached Mars; the other, Israel, carried out the pager operation. Yes, you are not smarter than either.
Now sit down and let that sink in.
And yes, chill and celebrate our brave flydubai Indian pilot ( Flight FZ1073), the brave Israeli passengers, and UAE transparency.
When the investigation concludes, you will probably know the DNA of everything going back 10,000 million years. Then you can collect your Nobel Prize for being a super idiot who didn't know that the UAE is different.
The UAE is the hope of the Middle East, a country that counters antisemitism, the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran's proxies, and Islamist extremism, while some of your countries give extremists citizenship, make them MPs, and call them activists.
ACM AP Singh’s annual press conference.(ahead of the 94th Air Force Day on 8 October; his last before retirement at end-October):
Brief Summary
Fighter strength
Needs 36–40 new fighters a year (~two squadrons) to halt the decline, and more to rebuild. Delays will hurt; “Technology delayed is technology denied.”
One report: 29 squadrons against 42 sanctioned.
Gap-fillers: Tejas Mk-1A, Tejas Mk-2, 114-aircraft MRFA, indigenous fifth-gen AMCA.
HAL has indicated >24 aircraft a year; with MRFA and other orders this can meet the annual need if programmes stay on track.
MRFA / Rafale114-Rafale deal (cleared February, G2G with France) expected by end of this financial year if price talks and other issues close on time. Total Rafale inventory would reach 176 (36 IAF + 26 Navy Rafale-M + 114).
AMCA and options
If AMCA or other programmes slip, other platforms may be considered. Russia has offered the Su-57; no decision taken. Aim is to raise aircraft numbers.
Pakistan fifth-gen
Reports of a China-linked fifth-gen jet, with Pakistani pilots already training in China, are “a cause of worry,” but not a “total no-go.” Outcome depends on system integration, not the platform alone.
Operation Sindoor (2025): Pakistan had other platforms but “could not do anything notable or special.” Well-integrated Indian systems should hold the threat until the other side integrates its own.
Drones
Evolutionary, not revolutionary; long held by the IAF. Numbers and types of drones and loitering munitions are rising.
No separate drone force. Unmanned systems stay in the existing structure and operate with other weapons. Specialised units can be expanded.
Indian loitering munitions used in Operation Sindoor; IAF took down Pakistani aircraft that threatened India.
Theatre commands
Not opposed; IAF is in the talks.
Pre-Sindoor discussions shifted after the operation. Structure and sequencing (all at once or incremental) still need care, including fresh views from the new Chiefs of Staff Committee leadership.
Modernisation
Air power is the cutting edge; recent conflicts and global trends show military power concentrating in the aerospace domain (fighters, long-range precision weapons, integrated air C2, unmanned systems).
Joint force required, as shown in Operation Sindoor. IAF also does HADR, exercises, and support to other countries.
Self-reliance: support for HAL and ADA (Tejas, AMCA, missiles, radars) and a domestic fighter engine.
Force should be “AI-augmented,” with humans remaining in the decision loop.
Work underway on space awareness, operational support, and space weapons.
Other
Praised Flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar’s resolve in the Flight FZ1073 emergency as “a lesson for us.”
Willing to own shortfalls; IAF will stay prepared for emerging challenges.
Chaired the 3rd Anti-terror Conference 2023 held by the @NIA_India in Delhi today.
Stressed the need for anti-terror agencies to adopt a ruthless approach that not only destroys terror outfits but also the very ecosystem that breeds them. A proactive measure that prevents the emergence of terror organizations is the need of the hour.

4. Major Iqbal
5. Major Samir Ali
6. Major Syed Abdul Rehman Hashim (Pasha)
🚨New: Beyond Masood Azhar, the FIA’s newly updated Red Book contains the names of 19 terrorists involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks who assisted, financed, or managed boats for the operatives.
While 17 of these terrorists are listed along with their photographs and specific roles in 26/11, Pakistan has covertly removed the photographs, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) affiliations, and detailed operational roles of two terrorists, retaining only their names.
Specifically, the FIA retains the name of Muhammad Khan from Turbat who provided the boat Al-Hussaini to transport the attackers to Mumbai in its updated list, but has excised his photograph, LeT link, and role. Similarly, the photograph and LeT affiliation of Abdul Rehman from Bahawalnagar have been stripped from the record. Both individuals had their full roles and photos published in the 2021 FIA list.
The updated roster lists 11 LeT terrorists responsible for facilitating the sea voyage of the attackers aboard the boats Al-Hussaini and Al-Fauz: Muhammad Amjad Khan (Multan), Shahid Gafoor (Bahawalpur), Mohammad Usman (Sahiwal), Ateeq-ur-Rehman (Lahore), Riaz Ahmad (Hafizabad), Muhammad Mushtaq (Gujranwala), Muhammad Naeem (Dera Ghazi Khan), Abdul Shakoor (Karachi), Muhammad Sabir Salfi (Multan), Muhammad Usman (Lodhran), and Shakeel Ahmed (Rahim Yar Khan).
Furthermore, the list features six terrorists who provided financial backing for the 26/11 attacks: Muhammad Iftikhar Ali (Faisalabad), an LeT operative who spent PKR 70,000 to set up VOIP connections enabling communication between the attackers and their handlers; Mohammad Zia (Rawalpindi), who provided PKR 80,000 to LeT for the attack; Mohammad Abbas Nasir (Khanewal), who contributed PKR 2,53,000; Javed Iqbal (Kasur), who supplied PKR 1,86,430; Mukhtar Ahmad (Mandi Bahauddin), who donated PKR 2,98,047; and Ahmed Saeed (Battagram), who provided PKR 21 lakh for the operation.
According to the FIA, all 17 terrorists involved in the 26/11 attacks have been absconding for 18 years. However, Indian intelligence sources confirm that all 17 individuals remain inside Pakistan, and that placing them on the FIA Most Wanted list is merely an eyewash to misdirect international scrutiny.
