So where to begin...this SMCC XC team exemplified what it means to run for your team! Every single young man set a new PR today. Andrew placed 2nd and Henry 10th. The ladies had 4 PRs.Jaden placing 10th.Such a privilege to coach their group of men and women.
"I look at a running back as a sprinter. And running is actually in the title of my job, my occupation. My job is to run, and it's to do it fast. All of my speed work is with a track coach. All of my lifting is with a track coach." @run__cmc

As of this moment, the SMCC at Flat Rock football game is still on. "We want to get the game in, but we don't want anyone to get hurt," SMCC athletic director Chad Myers said. "We will wait it out and maybe we will get lucky with the weather."
SMCC XC ran smart in some tough conditions! Boys worked as a team to place 3rd overall and Andrew, Colin, Henry, and Jack all medaled. Jaden ran to a 10th place finish and was only 2 seconds off her PR on a hot day! Run as a pack, win as a team!
So proud of this team! They ran hard, were there for their teammates, got some medals (Andrew, Jack, Henry, and Jaden), and the boys placed First in their division! Oh and everyone earned a PR! You could say it was a good day! Go SMCC XC!
Congratulations to SMCC's Caden Smith - Monroe County's Track and Field Athlete of the Year! Quick fact - he never ran more than 400M in a single workout. Stayed healthy and fast the entire season. #SMCCSpeed#FeedTheCats
If you think Sha'Carri Richardson's 2019 NCAA performances came out of nowhere, think again.
"The goal for myself is to dominate the 100m and the 200m, I just want to do the impossible. I want to go sub 23, I will and I repeat, I will be going 10.9." -Sha'Carri Richardson
Our State qualifying 100M, 200M, athletes never ran more than 400M in a practice this season. Our State qualifying 400M and 4x400M teams never ran more than 800M in practice. #FeedTheCats works. #SMCCSpeed@pntrack
