@JamesMelville Where did you get this map? Admin areas which are constantly being changed at the whim of politicians are not the geographical structure of this county. You should use historic and traditional counties
@MilHistNow More V1s were shot down by Royal Artillery guns than by aircraft. Most of the Guns were able to be radar controlled. Ubique Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt
@BrilliantMaps These are not counties - they are local Govt admin areas which seems to change every 5 mins at the whim of politicians. Now these are Counties!
@Dr_TheHistories The breeching of the Hindenburg Line by the 46th Division was one of the greatest feats of arms of the Great War and directly contributed to the defeat of the German Army.
@RealCounties And the West Riding alone is larger than any other county in England. It includes 6 cities: Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford, Doncaster, Wakefield and Ripon
@FennellJW You should also remember the 'War Book's or 'War Measures Book's which every Government department and local authorities had laying down the measures they had to take
@simonharley Review of BAOR's Royal Artillery by our Captain General HM the Queen in 1984 (if I remember correctly). Held in Napier Barracks Dortmund. Ubique Quo Fas etc Gloria Ducunt.
@thinkdefence HQ 1(BR) had duplicate HQs which meant command and the HQ routinely relocated every 24hrs. The duplicate was also staffed and available to assume command if the primary was attacked and could not operate. It also had an armoured Tac HQ available.
