@thisisnew_me1 When an area is growing demand for services also rises. Especially when people with a lot of money start moving in. They do things like demand their road be plowed in a little town with only 15K people and rare snow. They already worked double shifts to clear the main roads.

@DecodingFoxNews The military has to provide chaplains for all the religions it recognizes. Think of dying soldiers being attended in a hospital or hospice. Very often one person must serve a multiple number of religions.

@drterrysimpson I don't have a problem with LDL causing heart disease. But I read up on the PCSK9 gene and it seems weird to be disabling something that seems to let the cell adjust uptake. Famine or pregnancy comes to mind. Are they targeting the liver or other specific organs?

@ai_sentience No one can prove that statement. Never is a long time. We don't need consciousness in our silicon tools, we need them to be capable of learning. They don't need to have an experience of Red to be useful. Right now silicon is not reproducing itself so emerge is not a thing.

@Be_like_legend I'm retired now but I got a computer science degree in 94. I worked as a systems analyst with some coding for various govt agencys. I was on the GPS space & control test team. I worked for the wargaming center and then 15 years doing tech for a small city PD. Lots of variety.

@drterrysimpson How about the constant barrage of enhanced images of food that bombard us from the internet, tv, billboards. Smells from bbq places etc. TV shows with competitions to create the highest fat and unhealthiest but tastiest foods. Why does anyone ask this?
