How can schools be expected to comply with CDC guidelines while having their funding slashed? It’s a health and safety hazard - if school protocols change, they MUST be funded accordingly, and that goes for all schools. Answers are needed.
We here at SOS NJ would like to thank our amazing administrators for helping maintain some sense of normalcy during these absolutely unprecedented times. We are lucky to have you all. @FRHSDSup @BravermanHHS
We know the importance of celebratory milestones related to senior year. While much is still premature we are looking at options on how to best ensure we recognize the Class of 2020. As details & circumstances crystallize we will communicate to all. #theRegional
In light of recent events we realize holding a community rally would likely not be a wise decision. Nevertheless, we do not plan on stopping advocating for what is right. Details to follow! Stay safe and healthy everyone!
Funding formula is broken. Some communities have had local fair share artificially inflated. Thank you @GovMurphy@vingopal & @NJLD11 for listening to reason to protect schools in #theRegional. Optimistic the #FRHSD & other districts facing dramatic reductions will see relief.
This is the consequence of S2. It cannot be the legislative intent to educate some children at the expense of others and to gut one of the most financially efficient AND regionalized districts in NJ. @GovMurphy hoping for your intervention. https://t.co/LA0plHDXiI
This is only the beginning of what S2 will do the #FRHSD. Our communities need to continue to speak out. We cannot sustain a THIRTY million dollar reduction. Please see our advocacy page on how you can raise your voice to our elected officials. @GovMurphy https://t.co/ihoACRX7Mj
Reach out to your NJ legislators before FRHSD is gutted by S2! Our students-your children-are worth it! State Aid Cuts based on a flawed school funding formula-that our government won't share sounds wrong! School funding should be transparent! Who's $ it it anyway? @GovMurphy
@DrLRepollet which “schools, educators and districts” does this specifically apply to? Because it certainly doesn’t include Toms River, Brick, Jackson, Lacey, Middletown and FRHSD? Our children deserve an equitable education. @trocdb @SaveBrick@SOSNJ3@PtaEmma@brick
When students look for a college, many look for:
-small class sizes
-fun extracurriculars
-good relationships with professors.
But with the “fair funding formula” all these things are on the chopping block - not to mention student GPA’s may drop due to less funding. Speak out!
