@BanUnsweetTea The fun part is, they blasted all that rock without touching the foundations of multiple skyscrapers (including one 73 story hotel) literally mere feet away.
@HowEPhil@MARTAtransit If you're a regular rider, you need a physical or virtual Breeze card to load the discounted 20-trip or monthly passes. Those can't be loaded onto a credit card.
@bamcee0@FreddyLA7 Most MLS teams actually sell out their stadiums. It's a very popular league here.
Remember those pictures of the 68k in Atlanta for the World Cup matches? That doesn't even crack the top ten largest Atlanta United matches in that stadium.
@aawagner011@SoccerwithDoug It's actually the same seating, we've just never seen the retractable seats fully retracted before.
Normal AUFC configuration has them partway out (114 starts at row 9, for instance).
@bbcjohnmurray But then they ran into another problem : nobody manufactured an air duct big enough for the plans.
However they realized if they went to *two* smaller tubes it provided the airflow, and more importantly did so on BOTH sides of the curtain, so it would hang straight!
@bbcjohnmurray So, a fun fact behind all those girders and pipes ... There's a curtain that hangs down for most Atlanta United matches, blocking the upper deck.
They couldn't figure out the AC vents avoiding the curtain literally blowing in the wind...
@CaptBob_Nomadic These guys came within literal feet (maybe single digits of feet) of spreading 777 pieces all over that airport.
No matter how spectacular the video, it shows a marked lack of judgement and reckless, unnecessary risk.
@WIO_DW@jackson_popkin MARTA, despite its issues, has a major advantage over other cities: it has done this before, in 1996.
That institutional knowledge hasn't gone anywhere.
@SkySportsNews This is what you call "beer" money.
As in, if someone pays it, the owner will happily drink their beer and watch the match from the salon of the yacht they'll buy.
