Through the NESTLER One Health project, CTPH found that:

Tsetse and stomoxys flies were found to carry multiple pathogens, including those that cause sleeping sickness (Trypanosoma brucei), and are potential transmission bridges between wildlife, livestock, and humans.

Livestock & poultry harbor brucellosis, Rift Valley fever, salmonella & parasites that can affect the community and can spill over to gorillas.

Together with consortium partners, @ugwildlife, @MAAIF_Uganda and @UVRIug, our team concluded on Household mapping activity in Murchison Falls National Park Conservation Area under the Collaborative One Health Research Initiative on Epidemics (COHRIE) project.

CTPH works directly with Village Health and Conservation Teams (VHCTs) in Villages around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park who are trained to administer FP and taking them nearer to remote communities that cannot easily access these services.
