US stocks are having one of their best decades in history:
The S&P 500 has gained +141.0% so far since the end of 2019.
If this pace continues, the index will finish the decade with a cumulative gain of roughly +277%.
This would rank as the 2nd-best decade on record, trailing only the +316% return posted during the 1989-1999 Dot-Com Boom.
This would also surpass the +257% gain seen during the postwar boom decade of 1949-1959.
By comparison, between 2010 and 2020, the S&P 500 returned +190% following the 2008 Financial Crisis.
The 2020s are shaping up to be one of the greatest decades in US equity market history.
what is up with people in their early to mid 20s constantly thinking they’re running out of time? you have nothing BUT time. breathe, relax. even if you “mess up” or misstep, you have thousands of chances to start anew. slow down and enjoy the ride, my friends.
Funny thing of buy-side tax due diligence is clients expect small deals to be quick and easy and big deals to long and arduous.
The big companies have sophisticated tax counsel. They’re clean and organized. The small companies have been flying by the seat of their pants
THIS HAS TO BE THE STORY OF 2026
Ken Griffin’s Citadel was pushing surprise-rate-hike fears just days before the AI trade collapsed and forced 4x-levered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness to unload its book near the lows.
Citadel then reportedly bought most of those assets at significantly lower prices knowing that if sentiment deteriorated enough the fund could be forced to sell which makes the entire sequence look absolutely ruthless.
This is why the stock market is the greatest game on Earth.
why Naval deleted his calendar, ghosts everyone, and refuses to be anywhere at a specific time
Naval: "I read a blog post by Marc Andreessen where he said don't keep a schedule. And I took that to heart. So I deleted my calendar and I don't keep a schedule. I try to remember it all in my head. If I can't remember it, I'm not going to add it."
"I have a nasty email autoresponder that says, I don't check email and don't text me either. If you need to find me, you'll find me."
"My wife knows not to ever book or schedule me for anything. I'm not expected to go to couples dinners. I'm not expected to go to birthdays. I'm not expected to go to weddings. If somebody tries to rope her into having me show up, she says he makes his own decisions. You got to ask him directly."
Chris: "Are you not killing serendipity in a way?"
Naval: "No. I'm freeing up all my time. So my entire life is serendipity. I get to interact with whoever I want, whenever I want, wherever."
