@smtravis @browardschools And add that the school board had a golden opportunity to replicate what Palm Beach did many years ago. Once that failed, the agencies can ask and pretty much get what they want.

@smtravis @browardschools It’s amazing that when the “Guardian Program” was being passed following the tragedy in Parkland, myself and others involved in school safety said it would be a very bad idea to start arming civilians in our schools.

@smtravis @browardschools But the politicians felt they knew better, and it was a way to finally pass an arming teachers bill that had failed the previous 3 years! Now, this demonstrates exactly one of my initial thoughts. Having armed civilians will make it very easy to replace our well trained SROs.
