Rest in Peace Vinny. I had the opportunity to work alongside Vinny years ago and his dedication and focus on keeping children safe was evident each and every day. He truly made an impact on many.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Retired School District Police Officer Vinny Mintus on January 1, 2025. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the legacy of service he leaves behind.
🖤💙🖤 Rest in peace, Vinny .
#SchoolSafety is one of our top priorities. That's why we'll be at the 2024 National School Safety Conference next week to talk with educators about the important role #AI visual #GunDetection technology has in helping to save lives. Stop by our booth to learn more! @SSAC9111
@smtravis@browardschools And add that the school board had a golden opportunity to replicate what Palm Beach did many years ago. Once that failed, the agencies can ask and pretty much get what they want.
@smtravis@browardschools It’s amazing that when the “Guardian Program” was being passed following the tragedy in Parkland, myself and others involved in school safety said it would be a very bad idea to start arming civilians in our schools.
@smtravis@browardschools But the politicians felt they knew better, and it was a way to finally pass an arming teachers bill that had failed the previous 3 years! Now, this demonstrates exactly one of my initial thoughts. Having armed civilians will make it very easy to replace our well trained SROs.
