America’s retail and distribution industries are facing a serious and accelerating threat: an overwhelming surge of direct-to-consumer shipments entering the U.S. each day under outdated policies that allow foreign sellers to bypass trade laws, avoid safety standards, and pay nothing in duties. This loophole is costing American jobs, undercutting U.S. businesses, and eroding the integrity of our supply chains.

This week, I met with James Marcum, CEO of @davidsbridal, and Richard Westenberger, CEO of @Carters—two leaders on the front lines of this crisis. We had a productive, solution-driven conversation about the urgent need to reform this broken system and protect American businesses from being squeezed out of their own market.
