Eritrean Amhara and Ethiopian forces deliberately destroyed Orthodox churches in Adiabo area of North Western Tigray. The destruction and plundering of churches and cultural heritage has been a feature of the war on Tigray.

[Congressman Brad Sherman @BradSherman]

We have seen a terrible civil war in #Ethiopia, particularly in the #Tigray region. Although a peace deal has been signed, it has not been implemented.

I spoke before the House Appropriations Committee on the need to ensure that the #Tigrayan people actually receive U.S. aid.

[Congressman Brad Sherman @BradSherman]

It’s time to take action against the government of #Eritrea until they permanently withdraw from #Tigray.

Thanks to UN member states who voted against #Ethiopia’s attempt to defund the UN investigation of war crimes and human rights abuses there. It failed!

The Ethiopian government and allies in Afar and Amhara severely restricted the delivery of food, medicine, and services to Tigray, putting the region’s six million residents under siege, in violation of a UN Security Council ban on using food as a weapon. https://t.co/7b1sZmN6F1

Don't take my word for it. Here is a report from @AFP that is just two days old.

Tigray still in conflict. Situation worsening.

In #Tigray, unavailability of prevention & control measures, incl. vaccines & treatment, for current epidemics (e.g. malaria + measles) threatens an already vulnerable pop. & devastated health system. Nothing short of unfettered humanitarian access will save lives #EndTigraySiege
