A troubling figure released today by @SIPRIorg reveals a record surge in global military spending – now at $2.7 trillion, up from $2.4 trillion in 2023.

An arms race is never the solution.

It takes away resources from peace and development.

It magnifies the anxieties distrust and fear among people.

Through the Pact for the Future, @UN member countries have requested a report on how the #GlobalGoals are being impacted by the rise in military spending.
