Hon’ble LG Sahib, you once removed the upper qualification bar for MTS posts in Ladakh. Now, as LG of J&K, we humbly appeal to you to bring the same reform here.
Please remove the 10+2 maximum qualification limit and give our graduates a fair chance to compete.
@lg_ladakh
I stand firmly with the Educated Unemployed Youth & Graduate Aspirants of Jammu & Kashmir in their genuine demand for removal of the upper educational qualification bar for MTS/Class-IV recruitment.
Higher education should be an asset, not a disqualification. I urge the J&K Government and JKSSB to review the decision, remove the 10+2 maximum qualification ceiling, and provide an equal opportunity to all eligible aspirants.
Our educated youth deserve fairness, dignity and a fair chance to compete.

The maximum educational qualification prescribed in the recent JKSSB notification for the recruitment of Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts has disappointed thousands of job aspirants who have pursued higher education.
JKSSB has fixed 10+2 as the maximum qualification for these posts. This simply means that candidates who have studied beyond 10+2 will not be eligible to apply.
What message is the Government sending to our educated youth? Is the government disincentivising higher education? That too at a time when we are already witnessing a decline in college admissions for past few academic sessions. Putting maximum qualification bar on jobs will further send discouraging message to young people pursuing higher education.
It is completely illogical to tell an educated young person that being more qualified makes him or her less eligible for a government job.
Those responsible for making such policies must understand that behind every degree and qualification is a young person who has spent years of hard work, time and family resources on education. Such candidates should not be penalised simply because they have studied beyond the prescribed level.
I strongly urge the Government to immediately reconsider and remove the maximum educational qualification criterion from the notification and provide equal opportunity to all.
If the existing recruitment rules stand in the way of removing this restriction, the Government must amend the rules without delay.
Education isn’t a crime. By lowering the maximum qualification for MTS posts to just 12th Pass JKSSB is criminalising ability & merit.
@CM_JnK Why punish graduates, post graduates & Phd holders? Taleem jurm Naheen hai.
🚨 10 SEPTEMBER — A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR J&K YOUTH!
The upcoming Cabinet Meeting is a crucial opportunity to REMOVE THE QUALIFICATION BAR from JKSSB MTS recruitment and ensure that highly educated candidates are not excluded from government jobs.
Students are currently busy preparing for JKPSI, FAA & Constable exams, so this issue needs your attention NOW.
Hon’ble @OmarAbdullah@Surinderch55@sakinaitoo@JavedDar_NC@JavedRanaa@satishsharmajnk@nasirsogami@JKSTUDENTSASSO@NasirKhuehami
Hon’ble Ministers, please consider the genuine concerns of thousands of unemployed youth and remove the qualification bar.
These opportunities are limited. If we remain silent today, we may regret it tomorrow.

More than 2 yrs since the JKP Constable recruitment process began. Candidates face mental stress and future uncertainty due to the delay in medical exams. We urge authorities to announce the schedule ASAP! #JKPConstable#Recruitment@OfficeOfLGJandK@CM_JnK@jkp_aspirants
70% population, less than 40% gazetted jobs.
480 Medical Officer posts—only 192 for Open Merit.
More than 60% jobs reserved for less than 30%.
This is not justice, this is imbalance.
Students demand proportionate representation.

After meeting students delegation/ Open Merit Association today, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, @ruhullahmehdi assured them and stated the following:
• Before any call is taken on the Budgam by-election, the Reservation Sub-Committee Report must be made public and shared with stakeholders by tomorrow.
• All channels of communication shall remain open with our (Students) representative.
• Any future decision will be guided by the contents of the report.
— Office of Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi
So according to @Faizanpeer_, the Law Department wants “legislation” on the reservation issue. Total nonsense! Do they think we’re stupid? Omar Abdullah can fix it with ONE executive order; just one! But he won’t. Because his reserved minister Javid Rana doesn’t want it.
Rationalisation of Reservation Report? I am sure, J&K’s Social Welfare department has received the report from the law department. If that is so, why the report is not being made public?
Open Letter to Ruhullah Mehdi
Mr. Ruhullah Mehdi,
You once led a protest and stood with the students, forcing Omar Abdullah to promise us resolution within six months. But it has now been more than 9 months, and still nothing has changed. That promise turned out to be another cruel joke on Open Merit students. Our patience has run out.
You were not just a bystander, you were the one who gave people hope. And now, with silence and inaction, you are letting that hope die. Do you realize the betrayal this feels like? To lead from the front once and then vanish when the fight needs you the most? Leadership is not about showing your face in a protest, it is about staying with the people until justice is delivered.
We do not expect anything from other MLAs and political elites. They are cut off from the pain of ordinary Kashmiris, living in their palaces while our youth’s future burns. Their children study in foreign universities while ours are being crushed under this rigged system. They do not care, and we do not expect them to.
But from you, Ruhullah, we expected courage. You had the chance to rise above the hypocrisy of NC and PDP. These parties have destroyed Kashmir by suffocating merit, empowering nepotism, and trapping generations in dependency. Instead of defending Kashmir’s youth, they bargain with our future for their dynasties’ survival.
Now we are asking you clearly: will you step in again and fight for the students, or will you too fade into the same hypocrisy as Omar Abdullah and his ilk? Words are no longer enough. We demand action. If you fail to act, your legacy will be that of someone who lit a candle in darkness, only to blow it out before dawn.
Sincerely,
On Behalf of Open Merit Students
@RuhullahMehdi
Why waste time with meetings, forms & exams? Just courier the appointment letters directly to the reserved elites. Save us the fee, the fake hope and the drama.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! They rushed to fill vacancies before fixing reservation issues - this is BLATANT MANIPULATION of the system! Open merit Kashmiris have been BETRAYED and thrown aside. Every Kashmiri MLA who stays silent is COMPLICIT. This is OUR Kashmir, OUR future being stolen in broad daylight! No more excuses. WE DEMAND ANSWERS! @RuhullahMehdi@parawahid@OmarAbdullah@DrVeeri
JUSTICE FOR OM
Release Cabinet Subcommittee Report ASAP 🙏
Excessive reservations are crushing the hopes of J&K's open merit aspirants. @OmarAbdullah@sakinaitoo Why the delay in the cabinet subcommittee's report? Merit deserves respect and timely justice!🙏
#saveopenmerit
Out of 102 faculty posts at SKIMS, SC category gets a whopping 22 seats that’s 21.5%, when their reservation is only 8%.
RBA=5
ST (1)=9
ST (2)=7
OBC=3
EWS=1
This is not social justice. This is institutionalized discrimination against merit. They’ve now started department-wise reservation engineering to manipulate outcomes.
P.S How is your conscience allowing you to erode the quality of healthcare?
Have you even seen the cutoff difference between these categories and the general category?
We deserve the best doctors and a world-class healthcare system, not politically-engineered mediocrity.
