I'm struggling to understand crypto's obsession with prediction markets. We've had them for over 20 years and their application beyond elections has been exceptionally limited.
The world is messy and "truth" usually can't be easily be quantified. As a 'truth seeking technology' Wikipedia and community notes are dramatically more successful.
Hi there,
We’re BetDEX - a team with over 100 years of experience in sports betting. We have seen first-hand how the industry can often take advantage of its customers. High fees, difficulty withdrawing your winnings, arbitrary account restrictions and a lack of product innovation are unfortunately par for the course. We think it’s time that you ditch the premium charging incumbents and come check out the BetDEX Exchange - a sports betting exchange truly Built for the Bettor.
Here’s a bit of our history, and why you should check us out if you are a bettor who wants to win!
A little over a year ago, we launched the initial beta offering of our product, with the mission of building the most customer-centric betting exchange in the world. Over the past year, we have created a betting exchange with:
1. Expansive market coverage: Went from pre-match soccer to a wide variety of betting markets, including soccer, football, tennis, hockey, basketball, MMA, e-sports, and more.
2. Liquid betting markets: Bet $5k+ on key markets, with liquidity growing every day as additional liquidity providers onboard.
3. Increased funding options: Fund your account easily with fiat or crypto (USDC). Additional options coming soon!
Traditional betting operators do not optimize their products for successful bettors, but BetDEX is changing the game. We’re coming out of Beta with significant enhancements to the product that you won’t find anywhere else.
What does this actually mean for you? Unlike Betfair, Matchbook, Smarkets, Pinnacle, and others; on BetDEX you can expect to bet on a platform where:
1. Winners are welcome: No premium charges, no stake limiting.
2. Low fees: Only 3% of net profit per market. We only charge commissions when you win, aligning our incentives with yours.
3. Fair ecosystem: Bet against another user or be a bookie yourself.
4. Great prices and tight spreads: Liquid markets with competitive prices.
5. Expansive sport coverage: Bet on soccer, football, tennis, hockey, basketball and more.
6. Transparent operations: No front-running of orders or opaque order matching. All trades occur transparently on the blockchain. We’ve open-sourced our matching algorithm so you know there are no shenanigans involved.
7. Hassle-free withdrawals: No requests for unredacted bank statements.
8. Responsive Support: An actual human to help when you need it.
With many Exchange operators now having a Sportsbook & Casino attached, driving the vast majority of their revenue, they naturally don’t want winning customers to stick around.
In contrast, our business model consistently offers industry-best pricing with a promise to never apply restrictions to our users. Our fee structure is fair, our operations are transparent and winners are always welcome at BetDEX.
The list goes on and on, but as we all know - actions speak louder than words.
If you are someone who just wants to get their bet on at a great price with no restrictions, come try us out at https://t.co/7xBhy6FcAU!
If you have any questions - please reach out to us directly here on X, in our Discord or via email at [email protected].
Spent a career trading derivatives and building systems that do it well.*
Know that I love about it? The details. Every exchange, every contract is different. Details are table stakes for not getting a rude awakening from the market. And in those details you might, *might*, just find some edge too.
What do I mean?
Well, example. Ask a fresh finance grad what price is important in determining the final payout on a derivative and they diligently answer "expiry price".
Correct young Padawan.
And how is the expiry price determined? A look of panic passes across their face: "is it the close price?"
Here they come. I can hear them; the details are charging over the hill ready to take another prisoner.
Across the major derivs exchanges, I can think of at least 10 different - and sometimes completely batsh1t - ways an expiry level is calculated.
All day price averages anyone? Opening quote price after "expiry" seem good? Price at some random time in an expiry window? Or how about average price over a 10 mins window? The list goes on...
And in knowing these details there is, sometimes, gold.
*where "well" means, with enough redundancy and embedded risk management to allow you to sleep at night with risk on
This is true in trading too! If you read the exchange documentation, read the API docs, read and fully understand the contract spec or the offering document or term sheet, you will have an advantage over 99% of your competitors.
If there is one thing to optimize, it's the feedback loop from the market.
The time it takes from spotting an issue in the PNL, figuring out why, and fixing it is your iteration time.
Minimize it, because that's how you beat competitors.
Today is a very sad day for the whole Entropiq as we're saying goodbye to our two-year friendship with PUBG.
We'd like to wish the players good luck in their future and we hope that their journey with Entropiq was memorable and fun. More info in the photo below 👇
All men go through their Artisan Phase, where they drink craft IPAs & acidic pour-over coffee—and they grimace as they force it down their throat.
This peaks at 28 but then by 35, they no longer feel the need to signal so they revert back to watery gas station coffee and Corona.

I think the best part ab doing four years in IB and ab the same amount of time at complete PE sweat shops is I’ve lost the ability to feel stress. When everything is a fire, nothing is a fire. Effectively the guy from office space at this point

I wonder about the real estate investoors, hustle-pron promoters, VCs and Twitter "Guys" that share all this self-congratulatory stuff.
Did you not have a friendship group that lovingly mocked you whenever you got too self-important?
That's an important thing in life.
Whenever I see someone pulling guard in the UFC I'm just gonna assume they had an injury but needed to fight for the money and for the UFC to pay for their healthcare
