We haven't seen this yet? Potential for infrastructure similar to ETH and L2s.
Blockchain based corporations are like L1 at the top level. Each L2 is like the L1's departments. An L2 can represent a dept of marketing, finance, operations, etc. Each unit controlled by a DAO.
im starting to suspect that ideas spread through people's minds the same way viruses do; idea-viruses are more commonly known as 'memes' but these are more like... idea-viruses. it's less that a given idea is 'good' or 'bad' but rather that it is more or less infectious, and has various features that make it more or less well adapted to its survival in the human host. e.g. replicability, effect on behaviour etc.
i think that if we model ideas as idea-viruses, it is literally impossible to overstate the importance of immune system function in the shape of the future. by 'immune system function' I mean the ability of people to reject ideas that are bad for them, and to adopt good ones. this seems to be a surprisingly individualised trait, some people seem almost immune to crazy ideas and others are willing to swallow anything.
i think this points to some kind of idea of 'mental hygiene' that is synonymous with physical hygiene. just as we all agree it is our personal responsibility to be clean and not to shit randomly where we want, so do I think we will see a dawning recognition that it is everybody's personal responsibility to think carefully, clearly, not to spread misinformation and to actively work to weaken bad ideas and strengthen good ones. WE MUST LEARN TO BE IMMUNE TO BAD IDEAS AS A COLLECTIVE.
this isn't to say that it is the fault of individuals when they get infected, but rather that just as in a physical forest, all the trees work together to maintain a healthy forest ecosystem, so do I believe individual human cis/mental hygiene practices (A.K.A. "thinking clearly") form an important part of our collective resilience in the face of a world that is getting increasingly weird. anyway that's my two cents. what do you think?
