A lot of things happen today. Swimming pools open, BBQ grills are going. Friends are gathering. Those are amazing things, but we won't forget why we have an opportunity to gather together today.
Brush 49 and crew are off!
Our first deployment of the season is with crew headed to the Meade Lake Fire in Kansas. The fire is currently over 35,000 acres with no containment.
Best of good fortunes Brush 49!
Congrats to Team USA, as BOTH the women and men's teams beat their archrivals to win the gold medal.
For the men, its been 46 years since they have won the gold, dating back to the 1980 team.

We are incredibly humbled today. A noticed a visitor to our 9/11 Memorial, and greeted him. Today we met John Kostick. John was able to escape Tower I on 9/11. He now travels the country visiting memorials, and speaking to first responders.
We were not prepared for tears today.
The weather over the next few days may seem nice, but for fire danger...its scary!
Relative Humidity is significantly down, and the higher tems and windy conditions over the next few days will keep it down.
Firefighters actually have a lot of work to do even when not responding to calls. But we NEVER forget who we work for and who we serve, and especially the positive impact a few moments from a visit may bring.
If a child wants to see a fire truck...they have our full attention!
A reminder to all that we are atill currently in a Stage 2 Burn Ban in Arapahoe County. It's the most restrictive. While the winds have subsided, we have very low humidity, and very dry surface fuels. Fire danger remains high.
This sweet pup was dropped off at our Fire house this am 12/14. Pink and Green Collar, very well behaved. If your missing this girl please come to the Sable Altura Fire House.
"December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy"
Over 2,300 were killed that day, and today only 12 survivors remain.
A personal moment of silence, respect and reflection. We've promised not to forget them.
