BREAKING: The Somali governmrnt says “illegal weapons” seized from weapons traders and escorted by government forces was ambushed; some of the weapons have fallen into the hands of armed militias.

The incident happened in central Somalia on Monday.

In a statement, the government appealed to the local leaders for help in returning the weapons to the government hands.
