@constans I don't like the silly dances either. The only good dancing is partner dancing. Also, arrogance is different from confidence.
I want a return to decorum, where wearing a hat indoors is seen as trashy and politicians didn't make crass jokes. That ship has sailed however.
@dilanesper Isn't this partially a tactic to get people to plea out?
I'm personally not a fan of plea deals in these contexts since way more people need to be serving way longer terms, but that's the logic for this. I'd usually prefer that they actually prosecute all of the stacked charges.
@dilanesper I regularly criticize prosecutors and think that a lot more prosecutors and police should be serving hard time in prison. Perpetual walks don't serve a purpose.
I also believe that posting that video in reaction to this case was tactless and trashy.
I can hold two opinions.
More reason not to take M4A seriously. Most supporters think that taxing 989 billionaires can fund the entire $5.3 trillion U.S. health care system. Its an almost childlike view that 99.9997% of us can have all the health care we want completely for free.
I said this to someone DSA-aligned in my writing group last night, and it landed:
"As I grew older, life experience made me realize how wrong so many of my idealistic views were, and I really, really did not want them to be."
If I open a machine shop that specializes in $10,000 bolts that need micrometer precision and perfect heat treatment because they hold the wings onto an F-35, do I have to make my employees do community service every weekend so the soccer mom and karens can see that "the community" is "getting something" out of my buisness? If pay my rent and my taxes why isn't that enough? The "community" can just fuck off!
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) says he still doesn’t believe Graham Platner’s first accuser who was a Republican
Whitehouse: “When looking at allegations you have to evaluate things like if there is corroboration, she was involved in a Koch-brothers operation”

Committing an act of terror where you try to overthrow the government of the United States is a great application of the felony murder rule. It's a 10/10 application, we treat insurrection too lightly here. David Gilbert and the capital rioters are cut from the same cloth.
You hate Cuomo because of his behavior
I hate Cuomo because he commuted the sentence of a violent terrorist who tried to overthrow the US government
We are not the same
we can all see how approving the buc-ee’s despite the negative “community feedback” was the correct choice, yes? I wonder if we can draw any broader conclusions from this
