Have heard of police issuing challans to drivers clearing Pune Mumbai expressway in under 90 mins... So conversely, should there not be a provision for automatic toll refund in case > say 120 mins are needed to clear the route due to traffic jams?

Heads up @Mumbai2PuneEway! 🚨 As of 3 PM on Feb 5th, the expressway is clear until Khalapur. However, there's a major accident past the Khalapur toll plaza, causing heavy traffic. 🚧 Avoid that route! We switched to the old highway, and it's much smoother. 🛣️ #MumbaiPuneHighway

The government is lying. Toll collection is still on. The Mumbai-bound lane is completely jammed. Even now, there is no arrangement for drinking water, toilets, or medical aid for stranded passengers. No public announcement on toll plaza.

Do NOT travel to Mumbai. Traffic is not yet normalised.

Pune → Mumbai lane blocked.
Mumbai → Pune lane is clear.

Road connection between Mumbai and Pune is broken for more than 24 hrs. 1000s stranded for hours, lot many forced to alter route/travel plan. Still, @RailMinIndia @Central_Railway have not announced any special trains to ease the situation.

It’s beyond absurd that the Government can’t intervene and help people stuck on the Mumbai- Pune Expressway for over 20 hours.

For all the talk of development and good governance, a basic intervention could have helped by reaching out to the people and offering food/ water/ toilets at certain distances from where they’re stuck.

Been hearing of the plight of the people and the helplessness with which they’ve had to deal with this.

Shouldn’t the toll operators be made to pay for these services that they “maintain” and “operate” the highways for?
