@HamzaAbdiBarre Mr Prime Minister, I truly hope the shamefully outrageous debacle of 2023 in China is not repeated. There is no pride in presenting untrained female players on the world stage, only for the entire country to become a laughing stock.
@AnalystSomalia@Aynte@HassanSMohamud In Farmaajo’s entire tenure, HSM was essentially coping his flawed policies and strategies. He proved to us that he is an apt student who learned all the wrong lessons from a bad mentor.
🏆 Referee announced for 2026 #SuperCup!
We're pleased to share that Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate the highly anticipated match between PSG and Aston Villa in Salzburg.
I read @AnalystSomalia’s thoughtful proposal this morning.
As Canada and Mexico co-host the #CupOfShame (“World Cup” 2026), he suggests they issue Referee Omar Artan an emergency visa to officiate in their countries.
@MarkJCarney@Claudiashein — the ⚽️ is in your court.

FIFA’s Moment of Truth: Stand by Omar Artan
Instead of allowing others to decide who can and cannot do their job, @FIFAcom and @FIFAWorldCup should stand by their own referee — a man who also happens to be Africa’s Best Referee.
This is particularly true when the current U.S. president has repeatedly used hostile rhetoric toward Africans in general and Somalis in particular. Trump has previously described African countries as “sh*tholes” and has repeatedly used derogatory language when discussing Somalia.
Football is supposed to unite people, not exclude them. FIFA proudly campaigns against discrimination and celebrates the power of sport to bring the world together. A World Cup hosted by three countries should not sideline Africa’s top referee.
Had U.S. immigration denied visas to Gianni Infantino, FIFA President; Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General; or Heimo Schirgi, FIFA World Cup Chief Event Operations Officer, FIFA would have moved heaven and earth to find a solution, including allowing them to work from Canada or Mexico.
Yet when it comes to Omar Abdulkadir Artan — Africa’s Best Male Referee for 2025 — they appear content to throw him under the bus rather than explore alternatives.
Shame, @fifamedia.
I hope Canada and Mexico issue visas to Artan. There is no reason a referee denied entry to one host country cannot still contribute to a World Cup being hosted across three countries.
@Claudiashein@MarkJCarney
I don't care about @BBCWorld’s incorrect and wishful use of the "Somalian" demonym. Given the blatant discrimination and racial profiling against certain African nations, I call on African World Cup teams to boycott this year's @FIFAWorldCup tournament in a show of solidarity.
A Somalian referee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was denied entry into the United States over the weekend "due to vetting concerns," U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Monday. https://t.co/QPwoTZ0MKO
Mr. President @HassanSMohamud step away for a moment from the chorus of chauvinists and sycophants. Please, take a cup of tea, settle down, and read this short analysis by @AnalystSomalia on our current state of affairs and what is truly at stake. It may just inject a much-needed dose of wisdom into your overwhelmed brain. https://t.co/4AkOSgKfQF
@AbdirizakOm@SagalAshour This is a deeply haunting reminder of the return of Mogadishu’s notorious warlords. Stripped of any legitimacy, HSM is nothing more than another warlord. This is the bitter truth you need to contend with.
HSM is walking on the footsteps of IOG's guided electoral process where the outcome is unmistakably predetermined and the shambolic ritual of voting is merely executed to give the public a false sense of participation and voting that doesn't count anyway. The outcome: subverted electoral process that may lead to chaos and illegitimacy.
@francescaDM_EU@EU_in_Somalia@nmosomalia Madam, you lost credibility the other day when you told HSM, "your mandate is over" only to backtrack under pressure. Your immediate, public retreat was a humiliating display of weakness. You blinked when it mattered most. The EU needs a strong leadership.
Hawaynadaan Odayga toosh ku shiday :
1) Way iska ilaalisay inay "Madaxwayne" ugu yeerto.
2) Nuxurka qoraalkeeda: Dani iyo HSM arimaha Doorashooyinka murugsan uun baan kala hadlay, waxii kale waa jeebkiisa.
Diplomacy is bad things in nice way...
@RAbdiAnalyst@AnalystSomalia
I was briefed by @HassanSMohamud on his perspective on recent talks. Having spoken to @HESaidADeni yesterday, I gather that both sides remain open to dialogue. Somalis will decide on their political settlement. As a key partner, the EU hopes for an inclusive and democratic one.
@agaraad@EIshmael_ It is no secret that Fahad leads a double life as a Qatari agent and a political fixer. His influence is not based on intellect or genuine political merit; rather, his clout is entirely fueled by Qatari petrodollars. Avoiding media exposure is crucial for his treacherous career
@Aynte Here, the minister, writing in English, is trying to reach global audience with obvious lies. However, the elaborate fraud scheme masked as "elections" is already laid bare. The emperor is naked; his transparent deception will achieve nothing but public humiliation and ridicule.
@AbdirizakOm You were unceremoniously dismissed as a 'corrupt' minister, despite the entire Damjajid adm. being rotten to the core. You were treated as the sacrificial lamb for a corrupt system. Yet, ironically, you keep defending the ongoing pillage. That is a next-level lack of self-respect

The govt reclaimed public land occupied by squatters for 30yrs & gave title deeds to whoever wants to legally own. It made the city more vibrant & improved its security. Govt is also building 10,000 housing units for IDPs.Spreading false narrative to incite violence is despicable
Somalia at the crossroads! Two groups, the ruling administration and a host of opposition groups (plus Puntland and Jubbaland) are at loggerheads with each other. One side believes that it has one more year to rule per an “amended” constitution; the opposition side argues that the President’s term will run out in less than 30 days for it does not recognize in the amended constitution. These are two diabolically opposing views. In the absence of a constitutional court, who is going to arbitrate these two estranged groups? Meanwhile, Israel is pressing with gusto its purported recognition of Somaliland; some MAGA politicians, like Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who brags about his close relationship with the POTUS, are exerting undue pressure on Mogadishu. Drought and dried economic opportunities stock the country’s multitudes.
This is not the first time Somalia came closer to the cliff. It narrowly pulled off in the past. However, this time may be different because past toolboxes may not work. I am sure millions of Somalis are anxious about the coming twenty-something days. Political rhetorics will hit the roofs, confrontation will increase, and uncertainty will reign supreme in the streets and households of Mogadishu. Let us hope that politicians find a quick solution.
