What you choose to do out of uniform is your personal responsibility. But once you're in uniform, you represent the Nigerian Army, not just yourself.
When a soldier gets into trouble in uniform, the public doesn't see an individual but "the Nigerian Army."

Seeing personnel in uniform begging for money from strangers on social media or working as bodyguards and escorts for civilians raises questions about professionalism and the image of the institution.

The uniform carries prestige and responsibility. Every action taken while wearing it should reflect the core values and discipline expected of the service.

When we started M.A and A in 2023, entry level pay was about 100k and that bothered me so much for months. I was constantly praying for good briefs so as to increase salaries and set up other welfare packages for my staff. Today, no lawyer in our firm earns less than 250k as entry level and I am still not satisfied with it. This is a law firm that is not even upto 3 years, without any big or major client yet; and to augment our current pay, and welfare including HMO, December packages, we give room for private practice, either through their own sources or my referrals.

So when I read or hear about how law firms belonging to Senior Advocates of Nigeria, highly placed and successful lawyers, who have top clients, handle big briefs and live comfortably both publicly and privately, but pay their lawyers as low as 50k-100k, with nothing more not even HMO, I take pride in what I am doing.

One of my priorities as the owner of the firm is not even to make profits, because I am confident that it will come in the long run, but eagerness to make the lives of my lawyers and others better, at least financially. I believe that the better I pay and take care of people who are working for me, the more God blesses me. There are times I have decided to increase salaries without any money on ground and when it’s time to pay God has a magical way of coming through for us.

I am tempted to ask: what does it feel like as a boss with millions of naira in your account, dashing people money, living in houses worth hundreds of millions and ridding expensive cars, yet your staff cannot afford to feed and live meaningfully? Where is your conscience? Where is your humanity?

One sad reality is that NBA cannot do anything to make the lives of these young lawyers better. Every election year, NBA politician use “welfare of young lawyers” as campaign points but once an election finishes, everybody forgets about young lawyers.

It is well.

Bashir Umar from Adamawa, a personnel of the Nigerian Air Force who returned €37,000 he found at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano to its owner on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

He was recognized and promoted.
1. Promotion: The Nigerian Air Force promoted him two steps, from Aircraftman to Corporal. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said it was a "special promotion" that would have normally taken 10 years.

2. Letter of Commendation: He also received a letter of commendation at a special decoration ceremony in Abuja.

3. Special recognition: He was reportedly the only non-commissioned officer in NAF history to have an aircraft detailed to convey him and his parents to Abuja for the honor.

4. Presidential commendation: President Muhammadu Buhari also publicly commended him, calling it "uncommon, patriotic and exemplary.

5. Rewarded by kano state government.

6. Aliko Dangote gave him a house in Abuja.
