Fine. Then why post it publicly from an account whose bio identifies him as a DA councillor working in Geordin Hill-Lewis’s office?

Others say the DA supports a two-state solution. Again, that does not answer the question. Why wave only the Palestinian flag? And why use “from the river to the sea”, a phrase that is deeply contentious and widely regarded as incendiary?

People turning this into another endless argument about Zionism are missing my point.

Politicians need to grow up. You cannot behave like a five-year-old on social media and then expect everyone to pretend your public political identity suddenly disappears when there are consequences or questions.

I have more respect for Al Jama-ah being clear about what it believes than this half-hearted, have-it-both-ways nonsense.

So my question to the DA remains very simple:

Is this your position or not?

If it is, say so.

If it isn’t, why are councillors publicly presenting these views while identifying themselves with the party and the offices they work in?
