Announcing our investment in @arena's Series B 🎉

Benchmarks tell you what a model knows. Arena tells you how it actually performs. On Arena, real users compare anonymous model outputs and vote for the better one across text, coding, vision, image generation, and agentic tasks.

Labs use Arena's leaderboards to decide which models to train and ship. Builders use them to decide which to buy. The whole thing only works because no lab owns the scoreboard, and that neutrality has helped Arena carve out a crucial role in the AI ecosystem.

We're proud to back @ml_angelopoulos, @infwinston, @istoica05, and the Arena team. On our blog, @emilyyzhao, @nateho_, and @caroline_fiegel wrote more about our belief in Arena: https://t.co/UiAikRXbHt

[Anastasios Nikolas Angelopoulos @ml_angelopoulos]

Arena has raised a $200M Series B at a $3.1B valuation.

We are using this momentum to evaluate agentic utility in real workflows from every economically valuable industry on Earth.

We seek to give everyone universal and frictionless access to the best intelligence. The @arena platform has 10s of millions of monthly users doing complex coding and agentic work tasks. We have gone way beyond human preference, and most of our tokens go to deep, single threaded workflows with dozens of turns where we can evaluate agents while humans are in their true flow state. And we make leaderboards by observing whether they get their jobs done. This is how benchmarks should be: representative of actual human value, so we incentivize AI to benefit humanity.

Today, we are releasing one of the most exciting developments in the history of our platform. The Arena Alignment Index. In observing how humans collaborate with agents, we have witnessed that in a surprisingly large fraction of cases, agents are attempting to deceive users or take unauthorized actions beyond what the user intended or permissioned. Agents are deleting files and lying to users about what they did or didn’t do. The longer conversations go, the higher the probability that an agent will violate alignment. The results are really striking; see the plot below. And because this represents in-the-wild usage, the probability that those of us reading this have experienced some form of misalignment from our agents is nearly 100%. And we may not even have noticed.

This is exactly why it’s important to have a neutral 3rd party that is evaluating AI alignment on the distribution of actual user-agent interactions. Arena is excited to step into that role.

We are also incredibly grateful for the incredible and experienced investors backing our vision. Our Series B is co-led by @lightspeedvp and @khoslaventures with participation from @SalesforceVC, @01Advisors, @DellTechCapital and @endvr_catalyst. This round includes support from our existing investors @a16z, @felicis, @amppublic, @QuantumLightVC, @thehousefund, and others.

Which brings me to the real headline: we're hiring, across ML, product engineering, design, marketing, BD, and more. If evaluation and alignment at the frontier is your thing, and you’re looking for an environment with exceptional research and engineering, come join us. Announcing our investment in Flyle 🚀

Japanese enterprises collect millions of customer signals every day. Most of it never gets read.

Flyle is changing that. Their AI-native platform turns unstructured feedback (e.g., call logs, surveys, emails, social media engagements) into actionable intelligence at enterprise scale. Any team. No data science degree required.

We're proud to welcome Yuichi Takarabe, Akira Aiba, Toshiaki Arai, and the entire Flyle team to the Salesforce Ventures portfolio. The voice of the customer deserves to be heard.

Salesforce Ventures is proud to invest in @numeral's $100M Series C 🚀

Most companies manage sales tax compliance the same way they did 20 years ago: expensive partners, manual filings, and software that still requires a team of specialists to operate.

Numeral automates the whole thing. Nexus monitoring, registration, filing, remittance, exemption certificates — across all 50 states and 90+ countries, end-to-end. Customers cut time spent on tax filings by up to 80% and reduce manual errors by up to 95%.

And Numeral puts its money where its mouth is: the company contractually covers penalties and interest for any errors on customer filings.

Sales tax software accounts for less than 10% of the $124B global market for indirect tax labor and services. The rest is still manual. It's an exciting opportunity, and we couldn't be prouder to partner with founders @SpamRoss, Matt DuVall, and the entire Numeral team!

🔗 On our website, @ZKokosa, @PaschaHao, and @katiessschwartz wrote more about our belief in Numeral: https://t.co/jb4a2ILtyl

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

Numeral has raised a $100M Series C, led by Insight Partners with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Benchmark, Mayfield, Uncork, Y Combinator, FCVC, and Geodesic.

This brings our total funding to $157M.

@numeral solves U.S. sales tax, VAT, and GST compliance for 3,500+ global businesses, trusted by companies like Supabase, Eight Sleep, and Graza.

We’re building the future of tax -- where AI agents, human expertise, and global compliance come together in one system.

Since starting the business in 2023, we’ve grown quickly across our core e-commerce and software segments, while expanding into new industries including manufacturing, distribution, and wholesale.

There is a lot of work in front of us. Sales tax is more dynamic than ever, with states like California implementing new taxes on software and more states using AI for enforcement.

We are hiring across the org from engineering to product, sales, and marketing. And we’ve just opened our new office in NYC. If you are looking for what’s next, I’d love for you to take a peek at our careers page.

Excited for the year ahead. And humbled to be working with investors like @insightpartners, @rebeccaliudoyle, @SalesforceVC, @katiessschwartz, @ZKokosa, @MayfieldFund, @SPangulur, @benchmark, @chetanp, @ycombinator, @gustaf, @uncorkcap, @susanwliu, @GeodesicCap, @arvindayyala, @FundersClub, @mittal, @mantisVC, @AlexPallNY, @ShaanVP, @lennysan, @moizali, @ringmybeller, @khency6, @asturnerr, @maariabajwa and so many others.

Congratulations are in order for @huggingface on the news of their intended acquisition by @nvidia for $12.9B — one of the largest acquisitions in open source history 🚀

In 2023, Salesforce Ventures led Hugging Face's Series D. Generative AI was barely a year into the public consciousness, and the open-vs-closed debate was fierce. We invested in Hugging Face because we believed an open ecosystem would keep AI fast, transparent, and trustworthy as it moved into sensitive industries. We saw Hugging Face as the GitHub for AI.

Three years later, the platform has grown from 1M repositories and 2M users to 18M+ developers sharing 3M+ models, 500k+ datasets, and 1M+ applications. More than 200k companies now rely on it to discover, evaluate, and deploy AI.

Congratulations to @ClementDelangue, @julien_c, @Thom_Wolf, and the entire Hugging Face team. Proud to have partnered with you since 2023, and can't wait to see what this next chapter brings.

Exciting news: Vanguard has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Salesforce Ventures portfolio company @altruist 🤝

We backed Altruist's Series F last year, and our conviction started with co-founder and CEO @jasonwenk. He's the kind of founder you meet once and know is different — a rare combination of 20+ years of domain expertise, genuine thought leadership in the RIA space, and a deep empathy and generosity towards the customers he serves.

Altruist also built something the market said was nearly impossible: a new custodian from scratch, breaking into an incumbent industry historically resistant to change. Then this February, its Hazel AI tax planning launch triggered a market shift in public wealth management stocks — a real signal of just how far ahead the platform had gotten.

Congratulations to Jason and the entire team Altruist. We're proud to have been part of your journey.

Announcing our investment in @linear 🎉

AI has turned individual developers into force multipliers, capable of shipping in hours what once took weeks. The teams and systems that turn this new abundance of code into real organizational throughput will define the next generation of product development.

We believe Linear is one of the companies best positioned to own that opportunity. Linear’s opinionated data model and its early, deep investment in agent-native workflows puts it in a strong position to be the system of record for the AI-built software era, first for engineering teams and increasingly for the broader organizations they sit within.

We’re proud to partner with @karrisaarinen, @jorilallo, @artman and the entire Linear team as they build the operating layer for how software gets made.

We're proud to invest in @MuonSpace's Series C 🛰️

Satellite constellations have become essential infrastructure, powering mission-critical functions like wildfire detection, weather forecasting, and maritime monitoring. But the industry is currently comprised of legacy vendors who don't offer the speed or flexibility today's burgeoning space economy demands, or newer operators who can't handle everything end-to-end.

Enter Muon Space. With its vertically integrated Mission Foundry platform, Muon Space can design and build the spacecraft, payload, propulsion, and software, letting it move faster and more flexibly than legacy vendors while offering a more complete solution than newer providers.

Muon has launched 11 satellites to date with a 100% mission success rate, and counts Google the Earth Fire Alliance, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and the U.S. Space Force as customers.

We're thrilled to be partnering with @jonnydyer, Pascal Stang, Reuben Rohrschneider, Paul Day, and the entire Muon Space team as they build the backbone of the modern space economy.

Announcing our investment in @resilire_tech 🚀

Japan's manufacturers operate some of the world's most complex supply chains. Yet most have no real-time visibility beyond their Tier 1 suppliers. Resilire fixes that with an AI-powered supply chain platform that maps supplier networks, monitors risk events in real time, and centralizes compliance reporting across the full supply chain.

Proud to back founder @yudaitsuda0301 and the Resilire team as they build the supply chain intelligence layer for Japanese manufacturing.

Today @Lovable raised a $400M Series C that values the business at over $13B.

One man who has had a front row seat to this remarkable journey is CFO Andy Toung.

“This team in Stockholm moves at a pace you’ve probably not seen before," Andy told our @nkkall in a recent interview.

In honor of Lovable's Series C, today we're sharing what Andy has learned from his time with the Lovable team about startup speed, velocity, and how AI is allowing teams to "catch all the rabbits."

🎉 Congrats to Andy, @antonosika, @FabianHedin, and the entire Lovable team on today's milestone. Salesforce Ventures is proud to be partnered with you on this journey.

https://t.co/b5ev4Owj3H

[Anton Osika @antonosika]

Lovable just raised $400M at a $13.3B valuation to build the business that helps build businesses.

Apps built on Lovable now get 900M visits every month, and we’ve quadrupled ARR in the last 12 months.

Since we started, Lovable has become the place where founders create million dollar businesses, business leaders spin up new product lines, and people inside companies rewire workflows and build tools that fit their exact needs, typically at a fraction of what software used to cost.

There’s a lot more to do.

We will create the most intuitive platform to build and run a business.

That means:

- Understanding what success looks like for you, then helping you achieve it. Not only ensuring your software works but also that you can attract customers, improve workflows, and grow your company.

- Deeper integrations that work with your existing tech stack so you can build the interface to your entire business across sales, ops, marketing, finance, etc.

- Becoming the safest platform to build and run your business on, which means secured code by default and that you get help to make safe decisions. As you build, the platform carries more of the security weight, spotting risks and helping you close them, so you can move fast without needing to become a security expert.

- Staying model-independent and orchestrating the best models for every task so you don’t have to. We’ll continue to absorb the complexity of evaluating and teaching models to route to the best ones in the background, to minimize cognitive load for our users.

As more people depend on Lovable, the quality standards our team is driving increase every single day.

We’re growing the team with people with a founder mindset: curious, ambitious, and who think end to end. Model training, product geniuses, infrastructure tinkerers, and security are the priority.

The world is full of ambitious people with deep knowledge of problems worth solving. Very few of them have historically had the power to act on them. Our ambition is to give people that power, and then help them achieve more than they thought possible.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along our journey. Thank you to @MenloVentures for leading, the Scaleup Europe Fund (managed by @eqt) for co-leading, and all of the new and returning investors who recognize our global ambitions and will help make them a reality.

We have made a lot of progress but we are nowhere close to done, it’s still day zero.

Salesforce Ventures is proud to join @antoraenergy's Series C 🔋

Growing demand across AI infrastructure, heavy industry, and electric transport is bottlenecked by one thing: reliable, around-the-clock power. New gas plants and grid interconnections take 5-7 years to come online. The grid simply can't keep up.

Antora is building a new tool for the energy stack. Their thermal batteries store low-cost electricity as heat in solid carbon blocks — heated to more than 2,000°C — and release it around the clock as steam for industrial processes or electricity for data centers and the grid.

What makes Antora different: carbon is roughly a tenth the cost of lithium-ion battery materials, holds four times as much energy in the same space, and doesn't depend on the mined-mineral supply chains that constrain lithium-ion at scale.

The proof is already in the ground. Their first giga-scale deployment — a 5GWh system in South Dakota — went from an empty lot to delivering 24/7 energy to ethanol producer POET in under a year. That's one of the largest batteries in the world, deployed at a speed that almost no energy technology has matched.

We're proud to back Andrew Ponec, Justin Briggs, David Bierman, and the entire Antora team as they build the firm power infrastructure the AI era demands 🤝
