“You can’t beat the person who never gives up” -B.R. 🙏💪✝️ | TCS, Vernon College, Oklahoma Panhandle State University Baseball Alum| Head Coach Goodwell HS
Pulling off the ball is the #1 issue hitters struggle with. (they would agree)
To fix it, you don't need to try harder or swing slower.
Schwarber proves that. He hits the longest home runs without coming off the ball.
How to correct it: Shoulder in, chin and face in on the ball and swing the bat over your front shoulder. Then hold the finish (Arraez swing and finish drill he did in the video)
It's worked WONDERS for hitters I've used it with when they need it.
The College World Series is full of weird kids.
Weird because growing up they've been all in.
They've been willing to sacrifice for what they really want.
They've been willing to walk alone at times
Their fun is doing things others don't want to do.
Look at the bodies and ask yourself if you're on pace to look like them.
The majority of kids playing on that stage were and are simply willing to work harder, sacrifice more and prioritize being good at baseball.
My JUCO coach used to say “When you’re struggling at the plate, keep your hands up and work down. 99.9% of the time you’re missing under”

2026 Hitter of the Year : Irvin Leonard
Led the team in 9 statistical categories and was 2nd in two others.
.374 AVG, .485 OBP, .791 SLG, 70 H, 15 2B, 3 3B, 19 HR, 65 R, 52 RBI

My JUCO coach used to say: “Leave the dugout better than you found it.”
That lesson wasn’t just about a dugout.
It was about the game.
Respect it.
Take care of it.
Leave it better for the next group.
“No Walks” is always the goal. Definitely a hard goal to achieve every time out there but it’s definitely possible. As with everything, it’s easier said than done. With that said, there are many things we can do to really help ourselves and our team achieve this goal more often.
Doesn’t get much better than texts like this.
From the guys you know have been putting in the work.

Big time recruit. Middle of the order on a big time high school team.
We spent the whole offseason shortening up his swing. More ready to swing, gap to gap.
He also put real focus into skinny bat, 3 plate drill, and mixed pitches.
The skill of HITTING, not just the swing.
Both pieces matter. The swing (mechanical advantage) and the skill of hitting.
Find what you need.
Train what the game is telling you to get better at.
> Send this to who needs it
> Save this for when you need it.
This year’s TCS team was different. ⭐️
Players come to our program to become better baseball players… but the truth is they become better men. These young men live with us for a year. We feed them, train them, teach them how to lift, study, communicate, manage time, handle finances, change a tire, jump a car, do laundry, strengthen their faith, and navigate real life. 💪🧠🙏
They show up looking like men… but most are still boys inside. By the time they leave, they’re prepared for life.
On the field, this group won more spring games than any TCS team ever. They dealt with adversity that most teams never face—losing their head coach mid‑season to an incredible opportunity at his alma mater, and losing their pitching coach as well. A lot was thrown at them.
They didn’t just survive it… they THRIVED. 🔥
And their character showed even at the end—when there was nothing left to “hold over their heads,” they left the dorms and facility the cleanest any team has left it. That says everything about who they became.
Now they’re heading across the country to junior colleges and universities, with several uncommitted guys about to make their decisions soon. 📚⚾️
TCS Team #12 — THANK YOU.
You set the bar high for every team that follows. Your legacy is bigger than baseball. 💙
