@iamwesmoore Out of approximately $10 billion spent on education, only $70 million is for growth. Frederick county alone is spending $63 million on school construction this year. Most counties don't want families because of school construction costs.
@iamwesmoore If you are interested in investing in young people, then can you change the school funding formula to encourage growth? We need more houses. Nearly every county has school impact fees driving up the cost of housing because they have no growth incentive.
@AMinerDetail He does seem to be the most YIMBY candidate. Andrew Friedson is more focused on government funded affordable than allowing more market rate housing to drive down the price.
@Reed4Delegate The final thing is that property taxes do help to keep homes as a commodity instead of an investment.
Home owners with property taxes have an incentive to keep homes affordable when they have to pay property taxes. What happened to California since prop 13 passed?
@Reed4Delegate The convenient thing about property taxes is that the revenue scales with typical municipal government costs.
When home prices rise, you have to pay teachers, police and other city employees more money. The tax revenue usually grows at an equal pace.
@MayorBMScott I live in Frederick, but a month ago I was walking with my daughter in a stroller. There were two women walking the other way and one started saying "Amber alert" repeatedly. I couldn't believe what she was saying and implying.
More dads walking with strollers would be great!

@ChrisCillizza I don't get how Xavier Beccerra got a massive spike with all the turmoil in California, but David Costello barely gets mentioned as a boring alternative to the craziness of Platner and a 78 year old Mills.

I did it through carroll community college in computer engineering. It might have changed slightly since 2015 though. At the time you needed a 3.0 GPA and Bs is a few specific classes.
Best offense opportunity for Democrats in a while is that for the next 7 months they’re going to have some really pissed off lame duck Republicans to potentially work with. Get these guys while they’re in YOLO mode!
People are concerned about paying their mortgage or rent, affording groceries and paying for gas, not about putting together a $1.8 billion fund for the President and his allies to pay whomever they wish with no legal precedent or accountability. This is adding to our national debt. If there needs to be a settlement, the administration should bring it to Congress to decide.
