I’m sure we have all now seen the footage of Metropolitan rozzers kicking a suspected terrorist in the head, repeatedly, when he was down.
We can all play a part in putting an end to this sort of police brutality. Mainly by not going around stabbing people.
@PCtoBe@AJewishCopper Op Revoke is interesting as the DVLA have traditionally said they won’t revoke if someone is suspected of drugs/ alcohol and to wait for results (there is a list of what they will revoke for and some guidance) but this leaves forces confused / not following the process
It’s time to drive to the Highway Code for ordinary citizens. Blues & 2s. No going over the speed limit. No red lights. No double white lines etc etc. Police Officers are placing themselves at high risk of gripping the dock. Time to wake up & smell the coffee. Not worth it
@CPhilpOfficial@CPhilpOfficial - go on a ride along with your local force, ask the rank and files officers what changes are needed at ground level to making policing more efficient ! Simple changes will see a big effect on visible and efficient policing (or drop me a DM)
@CPhilpOfficial No - we need MPs to fix the basics of policing ! Reduce red tape and admin, reduce form filling, reduce recording use of force / vehicle stops just to appraise HMIC and the home office! Increase policing charging and remove endless disclosure just to get CPS to look at a file !
Police Officers.
Don't use force. Don't use Stop and Search. Don't pursue anyone.
The society you are trying to protect will attempt to get you sacked or even imprisoned.
You signed up to risk your life for the public.
Not your mortgage.
Not your liberty.

@saltiestcopper Nationally the Fed need to start pushing “work to rule”. I know most cops love OT and some need it more than others but if there is no joined up approach the strongly worded letters from the Fed will continue to be ignored by government and COGs alike
I’m increasingly thinking that the biggest threat to policing is senior leaders! I could enter any CID or Response office nationwide and ask what the main issues are. I’d get the same answers. Too much regulation & not enough resources. Leaders are largely silent on these issues.

@leembroad Policing is tied up in too much red tape - Chiefs do not do enough to push back against the CPS / HMIC, COP etc …. And then internal forms are added. Put simply policing needs to work smarter and not harder
A former @EssexPoliceUK officer has been barred from policing at a gross misconduct hearing for using excessive force during an incident in Colchester in 2022.

We have a ‘National Police Service’ who *checks notes* ‘protect us all’ it’s called the NCA…😂
Renaming things isn’t going to fix anything. Perhaps come and see the reality of Policing, that it needs to be funded properly and not used as a political football…

Before we introduce yet another poorly thought out ‘fix’ to policing, can we first make sure the previous ‘fix’s’ are working as intended:
-Consistent pathways into policing
-Consistent performance and development review process
-Consistent application of performance and attendance regulations
-Consistent and timely application of misconduct regulations and outcomes
-Consistent vetting
-Equal access to quality training (not death by online ‘learning’)
And whilst we are reviewing and reforming, it’s a timely reminder that police officers are still denied access to choice and quality and consistent representation. @PFEW_HQ have failed police officers and do not hold the collective confidence required to speak for all. The voices and experience of the front line, who will be expected to deliver any changes which are introduced, ought to be properly canvassed and listened to. You cannot confidently say that has been achieved whilst continuing to ignore the collapse of confidence in the current representative framework.
Let’s fix the current issues before introducing a new one.

Want to license police officers to practice? Then pay us what its worth to do the job. The starting pay is lower now than it was in 2016. Almost 4 years in and I barely clear 2k net deductions. Tell me how the pay matches the risks? If something better crosses my path, I'm gone.
