Many countries are building major projects with #China, except #Eritrea. Eritrea may have had one or two such projects in the past; however, the government does not announce or inform its people about them. That is why we say independent institutions are needed to communicate with the public and maintain transparent records.

#PIA made three overseas trips and visited manufacturers and industries in #China, #SouthKorea, and #Italy. However, nothing followed from those visits. #Eritreans were expecting a lot, myself included. #Eritrea needs new and more economic activities. It is way behind 21st-century developments. Give the private sector a chance.

This is what happens when major deals are made at and through the political party office rather than through ministries and public institutions. That is why we are calling for decentralization and reforms that promote private-sector businesses working directly with ministries, not the party.

Housing construction is one area where this could make a significant difference. It is time for citizens🇪🇷 to know more about their economy, including the numbers, data, and key economic indicators. 🤷‍♂️
