The below chart shows the main differences between three ways to measure sleep: lab sleep tests, activity trackers, and wearable sleep monitors. It compares things like how accurate they are, what body signals they track, where you wear them, how easy they are to use, how much they cost, and the kind of data they give.
Some tools measure brain activity (EEG), eye movement (EOG), muscle movement (EMG), heart activity (ECG), body movement (accelerometer), and turning or spinning motion (gyroscope).
Our latest paper @NatureComms reviews the relationships between sleep and pain. Research shows that poor sleep worsens pain; pain worsens sleep. Clear area for better understanding these relationships and improving care. (free download) https://t.co/lh6fVhUVX1
