@martinplaut You're conflating two different things. UN development allocations to Eritrea aren't direct gov't aid. Channelled via UN agencies under UNSDCF. "Donors"/"donations" mean direct budget support or ext. financed in-country projects, not the case here.

GENEVA —⚡️ The President of the United Nations Human Rights Council, H.E. Sidharto R. Suryodipuro, has appointed 𝗠𝗿. 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗶 𝗚𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗶, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of #Eritrea's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, as 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿-𝗥𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘂𝗿 of the 2026 Social Forum.

The appointment was made following a nomination process within the regional group, where Habtom was one of the candidates considered for the position.

The Social Forum is an annual meeting of the UN Human Rights Council that brings together governments, international organizations, civil society, and other stakeholders to discuss human rights issues related to social development.
