When I look back at my 5 years in LASU, the things I'm most grateful for can't be found on a transcript.
Not the CGPA. Not the awards. Not the positions.
I'm grateful for every student I was able to help, every voice I stood up for, every smile I was privileged to put on someone's face, even when I had very little myself.
Even after graduation, I’m still doing the same thing—helping students and young people find their feet. I founded a foundation that has helped students stay in school, because I believe you don’t need to have everything before you can give something.
I graduated with a 4.5/5.0 CGPA, held 10+ leadership positions, earned 10+ awards and certifications, and helped 10+ students stay in school.
But if you ask me what I’m most proud of?
The people who can say, “You were there for me.”
That, to me, is the real degree.
@gaagana_ Good morning Sir, thank you for this great opportunity. I will be starting exams by the end of this month and I really want to apply for the Data analysis Internship, but I don't want to risk juggling examinations with the internship and end up not performing well. What can I do?
Jack of all trades… Master of none?
Or… The future of engineering? 🤔
Mechatronics has to be one of the most versatile courses you can study
It’s mechanical + electronics + software + control systems
All in one
So yeah, the hype makes sense 😂
If you’re a mechatronics student trying to pick a path, this will help 👇🏽
Here are some directions you can go:
1️⃣ Manufacturing & Industrial Automation
Think smart factories
PLCs, sensors, CNC machines, cobots…
You’ll build systems that monitor machines, predict failures, and keep everything running efficiently
2️⃣ Automotive Engineering
Motors, actuators, control systems
LiDAR, RADAR, sensors…
Battery systems for EVs
Self-driving cars
This is where hardware meets intelligence 🤖
3️⃣ Biomedical / Biomechatronics
One of my favourites 🤭
Prosthetics. Surgical robots. Wearables.
ECG, EMG, glucose monitoring…
Even exoskeletons for rehab
(Go and look up the Da Vinci Surgical System. You'll love it ☺️)
4️⃣ AgriTech 🌱
Yes, agriculture too
Smart irrigation. Drone spraying.
Crop monitoring with computer vision
Autonomous tractors
This space is growing fast
5️⃣ Aerospace & Defense
Drones. UAVs. Flight systems.
Space robotics (rovers, satellites)
You’ll deal with IMUs, gyros, control systems…
This one is not for the weak 😅
Or…
If you don’t want to pick one lane?
Build something
Join a startup
Become the CTO
Who knows? 🤷🏽♀️
Use everything
Now let’s be real
You’ll need skills:
Python, C++, MATLAB
Embedded systems
ROS/ROS2
SLAM
Control systems
CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
AI/ML…
The list is long 😭
But that’s the beauty of it
Endless options
Slight confusion
But a lot of power
Mechatronics is not “too broad.”
It’s leverage
And if you use it well?
You’ll never be limited
Mechatronics is the future
Don’t say I didn’t tell you 🦾
