Year 2 had a visit from their Year 1 teacher Ms Taylor and baby Daphne yesterday, to link to our science learning. The children asked lots of great questions about pregnancy, looking after babies, and how babies change as they grow @SandringhamE7 #PriSci#WeAreScientists
Our EYFS and Y1 staff loved the @Ri_Science CPL session and are excited to use the 'Play, Look, Ask' structure in their practice to get children exploring. Thanks Zofia! @Ri_Science @SandringhamE7 #WeAreScientists#PriSci
Year 2 have been learning about personal hygiene. We used Glitterbug and a UV torch to explore how germs can spread @SandringhamE7 #WeAreScientists#prisci
Thank you Stephen from @FGCommGarden for talking to Y3 and 4 today about water scarcity, drought resistant plants and much more! The children were so curious and asked brilliant questions #wearescientists#prisci @SandringhamE7
Year 3 are visiting the Forest Gate Community Garden. As scientists we are exploring the different types of plants and pollinators. This garden had some amazing and beautiful flowers πΏ. We even spotted a few tadpoles! Definitely worth a visit @SandringhamE7
Earlier this year as part of the @Psqm_HQ, we created our science vision & principles as a school. We're really proud of these and use them as a shared language for science. Watch this space for the results of the mascot competition! @SandringhamE7 #PriSci#WeAreScientists
It took a LOT of resilience but science club finally got their scribble bots working! Thanks for the idea @sciencesparks @SandringhamE7 #WeAreScientists#PriSci
2C had a great start to #BSW23, making #connections at Forest Gate Community Garden. We planted seeds, used our maths skills to make tally charts of the plants we spotted, and saw the frogs and frogspawn in the pond #WeAreScientists#PriSci @SandringhamE7
And the winner is... Fantastically Great Women Scientists and their Stories, by @KateisDrawing! Thanks so much @royalsociety for the chance to judge these 6 inspiring #YoungSciBooks. The children loved every one of them and fiercely debated the winner! @SandringhamE7 #PriSci
Year 2 have loved observing germination of different herb seeds using magnifying glasses and microscopes. We put some in a dark cupboard and found out that seeds don't need sunlight to germinate #PriSci#WeAreScientists @SandringhamE7
What a pleasure to see so much great science happening around school today - Reception exploring with magnets and torches, Y1 sorting objects by material and talking about properties, and Y3 sorting animals into vertebrates/ invertebrates @SandringhamE7 #PriSci#WeAreScientists
