Glimpses of restoration work of road side water springs recently done by #Rudraprayag Forest Division !In the last 2 years 20 such springs have been restored by using locally available stones !

Recorded forest area may not necessarily mean woodland,a large chunk of forest land comprises of meadows,lakes,snow covered peaks, scrublands etc. In Rudraprayag Division alone,almost 10 % of Reserve Forest (5000 ha) is alpine/sub alpine meadows which does not have forest cover!

Thanks to his efforts, there is now an additional recharge of 865.86 lakh litres of groundwater, 23 springs are now replenished, and 697 hectares of land are greener with around 9,88,400 trees and shrubs.
