@icreatelife "pick two-three tools you're extra passionate about and focus on learning something that's been around forever." .. very important point as well
@icreatelife "and I can see that I should have given myself a few hours a day to study / practice with something else." ... This is a very important point.. please remind people of this more... AI can only take you so far. You need to pair with exsiting skills
@moizali I'm an illustrator/graphic designer. I did average on the SATs, but in high school, I was on my high school newspaper. Working together, meeting deadlines and dealing with each other's personalities was the best indicator of my future professionalism
@NicheDown@myfirstmilpod@ShaanVP Thanks for starting this thread… I know COVID wiped out a local play place in our area. I’m curious about these spaces too. We have too many pot shops in our area. I want a fun place for kids !
Stop getting into power struggles with your kids - with these three steps:
1) Find your calm by reminding yourself, “I am safe. This is not an emergency. I can do this.”
This mantra gets you out of “fight or flight” mode - and ensures you don’t add fuel to your kid’s fire.
@prntwrld@icreatelife When i'm working on an illustration or design for a client, I create moodboards (images gathered from the internet) that capture the essence of what we are trying to accomplish with the project. I'm saying AI is great for generatring moodboards.

I talked today to a person who works in the film industry in Hollywood, and he shared some interesting insights that, with his permission, I’d like to share with you.
Filmmakers are talking about Midjourney as a tool used for film production and how it can speed up the process. They approached me because they saw my comic book being shared and they liked it. They liked my instructions and that I shared openly everything I learned. They asked me to do a workshop and share my workflow with Midjourney. In return, I asked several questions about Midjourney from their industry perspective.
1. Using a celebrity as my character
First thing I asked about using Zendaya’s likeness as my character. I did it because it was the only way for me to have a consistent character through so many pages of my graphic novel. MJ has limitations. I later learned how to make unique characters with MetaHuman and shared it with others. That approach has a limitation and wouldn’t work for so many frames. AI is still very limited in terms of action and expression.
He said that as I haven’t monetized from it, it’s okay. Midjourney, unlike DALLE-E, allows using celebrities, and much of it helps filmmakers work on storyboards and pitch their films to investors. If you have a dream for a film and you want to cast a particular actor, you would visualize them as they look.
2. Are Deep Fakes always a bad thing?
He told me that his friend owns a deep fake company. And I was surprised to hear that because for me deep fake is a word surrounded by a lot of stigmas. In my mind, it was all bad, and there was no place for it in the perfect world. He said that for filmmakers it’s a great way to replace stunt doubles with actual actors, it’s more safe and fast. I’ve never thought of it this way as I’m friends with several stunt doubles and knew how hard it is to make sure your face isn’t exposed. With this technology, they can focus on a challenging activity they are doing, and the face will be replaced.
3. Blender (3D software)
He shared with me about Blender and how they use it in film-making at the moment and how sharing and generous the community is, and I made a decision to move from Cinema4D to Blender. I use Cinema4D, and it’ll not be hard to transfer my knowledge to Blender and start using and sharing that. Cinema4D is a very expensive tool, unlike Blender, which is free. If I learn Blender, I can share all I know, and everyone can try it with free software like Blender.
