Game 11 reminds me of a game Jordan van Foreest played at Tata Steel. He was over an hour up based on his prep, but one mis-step lost him the game. #DingGukesh
A useless but curious observation about last night's election is that 5th Nov was of course bonfire night in UK, just as our general election was on 4th July when the US like to set off a firework or two.
Australia FoW: 316/5 to 416 all out. It's so retro to be able to pick up the last five first innings wickets for 100 runs without some "lower order batsman" (the artist formerly known as a tailender) caning you around the park for a couple of hours... #theashes#Cricket#engvaus
It should come as no surprise that Australia have always had a surfeit of quality leg spin. They've always had their fair share of wrong 'uns. #shotsfired#Ashes2023
About time I tweeted about my #chess journey. Since joining @WallaseyChess a year ago next week, the game has become a huge part of my life. It was always there in the background but now it's very much in the foreground!

Have to add massive thanks to my good friend & fellow @kingschester alumnus @SanjoyKBanerjee, who has become my #chess guru & who, along with @s_farry, puts up with my late-night waffles about the game we all love!
@anthonyjwells Just wanted to let you know that I followed UK polling report for many years and really appreciated your work. All the best for life's new and continuing challenges.
