As this is a new method and we would look to improve and enhance it, we would be really interested to hear your thoughts if you try it out.

๐ฆท๐จAre you into teeth? Here is the @TobacHistory projects latest work on an index for assessing oral health in the past. https://t.co/JvEomiaQlJ Congrats @DrDaviesB for leading this, and @NickJakubovics and @DrRichHolliday for their contributions!
The aim of the paper is to produce an index score that assesses multiple conditions that affect the mouth while also taking into to account missing data. It can be applied to pre-existing data and will allow us to compare health between communities more easily!
A great summary of our recent #interdisciplinary#Archaeology led research using #metabolomics to identify past #tobacco users, and showing that tobacco use in Edwardian and Victorian women was more common than historic narratives suggest.

A new analysis of archaeological remains finds changes linked to tobacco usage in cortical bone.
This metabolic record makes it possible to identify tobacco use in individual remains even without visible markers. https://t.co/nfeyhtdZZB @SarahAInskip@TobacHistory

#Interdisciplinary working can be challenging, but is highly rewarding. With a fantastic team, we set out ideas to maximise interdisciplinary research. Check it out๐@HDKaul@Mukund_NJ@darko_nat Daniel van Helden Diane Levine Eric Guiry Charlotte King Zahir Hussain @LeicsIAS
Per a 2023 THE report, global research hubs (the USA, UK, and Australia) are much less focussed on #interdisciplinarity vs their Asian counterparts. While this sounds counterintuitive, it is not surprising! Read on if you'd like to know how to overcome this. A ๐งต 1/13
