1. How do I get connected? services like mentorloop; or founder recommendations
2. How do I choose quality? Lived experience is great, but you need someone with a system: diagnostics - to understand what you need, then best practice - prescribed by the diagnostic.
@scottfarkas Great suggestion to get the most out of town halls. It also avoids the situation where team members are trying desperately to come up with good questions on the spot before they’ve had chance to digest the information
Atlassian used to share big company changes in "town halls" then follow with written info. Recently swapped - share company updates in Confluence 2-5 days ahead of the town hall. Staff asked much more informed Qs this way around. We will do it this way going forward.
@jjen_abel There is ALOT of terrible startup advice EVERYWHERE.
We operate in a largely unrecognised Innovation Industry that's yet to be professionalised. Not much different to the Medical Industry of 400yrs ago.
Patients have no way to distinguish the quacks from the professionals.
I really hope now the #NeighboursFinale has been shown that there is some intelligent business minded person sitting somewhere trying 2 figure out how this happened 2 a iconic popular show & how they can fix this mistake! Re-cost it & Revive it asap! #BringBackNeighbours 🙏🏼♥️
@SarahMillican75 I’ve travelled from America with my children to spend Christmas with my parents. My in laws are in Australia. I caught omicron so I’m isolating in a room, my husband is in America so he doesn’t catch it, my daughters are downstairs with my parents opening their presents! #JoinIn
@paigefinnn These questions are fantastic. This would be a great podcast topic. I’d also be interested: how did they develop their investment philosophy in the first place? So much is based on experience, intuition and reading books.
‘Community is a key driver in the products and services we buy. Every sector should look at how we serve our customers from a community perspective: both belonging, and building together’. @lolitataub#TechCrunchDisrupt2021
If you aren’t well connected and want to raise capital: 1) research firms who have invested in similar startups; 2) structured personal email to a partner:attach 1page pitch teaser; 2) reach out to founders who’ve been funded by the firm and ask for help. #TechCrunchDisrupt2021
Great insights from @ninaachadjian on what early stage investors are looking for:
1) Passion and motivation from the founder; 2) steps you’ve taken to become an expert in your field #TechCrunchDisrupt2021
I love how clear these trends are. What's needed is support for individuals to be able to act on this knowledge in a way that's affordable and accessible.
Little point being able to predict the future if you can't capitalise on that for yourself and your community.
Interested in how technology will shape the future of the legal industry, and how to be ready for the opportunities this presents. Our host will address these questions and many more in his keynote, followed by a Q&A session https://t.co/IatZ07YboH #startups#adelaide#legaltech
@realDonaldTrump taking action and encouraging companies to take action to prevent climate change is surely a business decision. New York will be one of the cities most at risk from serious flooding - https://t.co/UPyxvU6Igo
