@Carolin86470106 Teachers can use end of unit projects to access students understanding. One example: projects on preparation for natural disasters where students create a model in which they prepare for the natural disaster of their choice, giving the students decisions throughout their project.

@anm0054 Incorporating the students culture into the classroom allows both the students and peers to gain a greater understanding of each other as well as their backgrounds. This exposes students to diversity, as well as motivates students to learn.

Only 24 states mandate sex education for K-12 students. With that, there has been an influx of published curricula as federal funding for abstinence only education. Fact based Sex Ed is proven to lead to safer sex practices. Our students deserve evidence-based sex ed. #AUCTEE3100

@kathlee07548766 Involving the child in managing their behavior problems allows them to understand the issue and makes them feel more comfortable with consequences. This also makes the student feel respected and makes them more accountable for their decisions.

@em__christensen I think that the most important thing we can do as teachers is to genuinely care for our students well being first. Showing our student we care for them more than the scores they make acts as a motivator and facilitates success.

@lollyz7 I think that you can create an environment where questions are encouraged by utilizing discussion based teaching. I also think that celebrating all questions and constantly providing answers as soon as possible encourages students to wonder about and challenge the information.

@Drake_jones98 I believe that when a teacher gives their students insight into their background then students are able to develop a better understanding of their teacher and feel closer to their teacher. This in turn allows for a more effective learning environment.

@Carolin86470106 I think that if teachers set strict inclusion rules early on these rules would become more normalized and students would begin to expect that they have to include each other. Along with this, students would learn inclusion at an early age rather than having to adjust to it later.

@calleneducation I think teachers can make their classrooms more safe and effective for all students by making the material relevant to each students life by utilizing pop culture to enhance lessons and by celebrating each students cultural background throughout the year.

@calleneducation I think the worst thing an educator can do is close their mind to new information, ideas, or ideas that are different than their own. Without the willingness to change, the educator's students will fall behind and lack relevant information needed in today's society.
